The best christmas present I received this year.
I haven't been feeling very inspired these days, unfortunately. To add to that, I have my IGCSE mock exams in a week so I've been spending my time studying, or trying to study. I got rid of Facebook so as not to distract me, but I'm afraid Flickr and Tumblr aren't helping much either ;)
Experimenting with putting floral dye in water to turn the flowers different colors. It's interesting to see the veins on the flowers and where the dye goes. This is a snapdragon dyed blue. Looks like a brain...

The study of the poles at Nieuw Haamstede, provided me with new insight. A bit further away than I had done until now. The pile row at about 10 o'clock.
Salient detail: It was spring tide, with a stormy westerly wind. The water came close to the dunes. In short, it was beautiful. It did deliver a lot of sand in the bag and on the equipment. So i had te clean a lot.

In art class we're studying light on glass surfaces and refraction. This was taken to provide a subject to paint, as the light in our classroom is from overhead fluorescent lights. A picture of the painting I did from this is here www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/3552130365/

Hi my name is Konner. Currently I'm studying in the Netherlands and I'm actually pretty busy doing that (as you can hopefully see on the picture). I think you will get to know me better by looking at my pictures, someone told they reflect my character……
I am looking forward doing this project with all of you!
What happens when you get bored of studying? Break out the camera and put those pencils to use!

Shot it at Puskkar Fair..it's just 11 km. from Ajmer(RAJASTAN,INDIA) comes alive during Puskar Fair, when people from all over Rajasthan converge at Pushkar with their cattle stock. Pushkar Fair is regarded as one of the largest camel festivals in the world. Celebrated in the month of October-November, Pushkar Fair attracts domestic as well as foreign tourist to Pushkar in Rajasthan.
Pushkar festival is not about camels only but it is also about horses, cows, goats, sheep and most importantly about the lively people of Rajasthan, who come to the Pushkar fair in their best attires. The festival looks like a riot of colors with men wearing colourful turbans and women in pleated ghagaras (ankle-length skirts) of different hues. The festival offers a wonderful opportunity to see the people selling and buying camels, goats, horses etc. Bargaining, negotiations and transactions remain order of the days during the festival.
Sporting events are other attractions of the Pushkar Fair. One can enjoy the camel and horse races during the festival. Camel beauty contest is another highlight of the festival. The beautifully decked up camels are paraded and then the most beautiful camel is selected.
Pushkar is a religious town and is one of the important pilgrimage centers of Hindus. Pushkar is known for the holy Pushkar Lake and the many temples that dot the area. Puskar is associated with lord Brahma and is the only place in India, which has a temple dedicated to lord Brahma.

101 Oil Studies, No. 34
Objective: Refine life-size figure painting (applied with brush), experiment with dark but analogous abstract background (applied with palette knife).
Painted in 3 sessions: 30 July to 02 August 2024
Pigments (Winsor & Newton Artists' oil colour unless noted otherwise): yellow ochre, Naples yellow, transparent earth red (Gamblin), warm gray (Rembrandt), permalba white (Weber), ivory black, French ultramarine. Mediums: Gamsol, linseed oil.
Centurion OP DLX oil primed linen, 30.5 x 22.9 (12 x 9 inches)
Process: This moved from a photograph of my own hands to a pencil drawing. When satisfied with that, I transferred via charcoal pencil on tracing paper to the linen, which already had a wash of yellow ochre given time to dry. My river of skin-tone gradation came from the red, yellow ochre, white, and black. To the edge of this stream I added the ultramarine to desaturate where needed.
After Action Evaluation: Be mindful of how palette knives are changed and then stroked across the canvas. There is technique to be developed here.
