Oh, how I love the 70-200 f/2.8.... let's me take photos from a distance without being intrusive, and giving spectacular results.

These images and excerpts of texts are from a self-portrait project in which I portray my late mother, Roxanne, based off of anecdotes, memories I had of her, and most of all, her myriad of journal entries. Not every image has acompanying text, but I like to think you can piece together who she was by my images.

"Zea is a genus of flowering plants in the grass family. The best-known species is Z. mays (variously called maize, corn, or Indian corn), one of the most important crops for human societies throughout much of the world. The four wild species are commonly known as teosintes and are native to Mesoamerica." (Wikipedia)

In a recent US study it was found that less than 23% of U.S. adults aged 18–64 met guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities.

These findings are of concern because regular participation in physical activity lowers the risk of many chronic conditions, disability, and mortality.

What are these guideline recommendations?

Specifically, adults should perform at least 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity, or 75 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity, in addition to muscle-strengthening activities 2 or more days per week

Note (from the Betamax Wikipedia entry):

»In rock climbing, to give guidance as to how to climb a particular route is called "giving beta". This is due to climbers sometimes videotaping other climbers on climbing routes using the Betamax format (when it was still in use), then reviewing the tapes to evaluate techniques to help them climb the same routes in the future.«
