Thierry at the start of the Critical Manners Halloween Ride (a friendly critical mass). Dupont Circle, Washington, DC.
We were on our way home tonight and saw a HUGE cloud of black smoke streaking the sky north of Vauxhaul. Decided to drive abit closer and low and behold it was just a field of stubble being burnt off. It was already getting darker but I decided to see if I could get some shots. I added some in the comment section ..the last is one as we drove away from it. A smokey sunset in rural Alberta lol The farmer and friend were out on ATV 's keeping an eye on it.
One of four I posted last night.(I removed the the comment with the other shots in it as they were not showing)
Another photo from last Saturday's little Mulliken walkabout. The view from the south end of Potter Street.
Darren's concentration face, taken on the 14c Studio balcony, on the most beautiful day of the year so far.

Stubble Rosegill, Common Rosegill or Pink-spored Grisette (Volvariella gloiocephalus) growing in garden eucalypt mulch at Ballan, Victoria, Australia. Photographed on 31 May 2014.
Gills salmon-pink and slightly slimey - there was no discernable smell. The cap was grey, 65 mm across, and flat when opened. The stem had a bubous base with obvious mycelia spreading from it. Spore print was a pinkish-brown.

This species is called Volvariella speciosa in many books and web sites on Australian Fungi, and Volvopluteus gloiocephalus on Wikipedia and several other sites. It also goes under its various common names in different books and web sites. I have followed the taxonomy on the Atlas of Living Australia.
Had originally planned something else for today's shot, but ended up using the light in my bathroom :)
