There always seems to be one Reddish Egret that waits for me to visit Ding Darling NWR each February ;-)
Reddish Egrets are amusing to watch when they are looking for a meal. They run around the impoundment trying to scare up a fish or invertebrate, stop abruptly and raise their wings to shadow the shallow water for a better look, and continue the process until they find something that seems to be worth eating.

Pied wagtail at my workplace. This is why I take my camera everywhere lol. It also shows that you don't need a nature reserve to see nature as this is in Tottenham London.

This Female Great Blue Heron was strutting her stuff right in front of me showing off her beautiful plumage and fantastic foot work. I got some magnificent captures of her and she didn't seem to mind my presence at all.
White-Crowned Sparrow interesting fact: while many sparrows travel in mixed flocks, the white-crowned is more of a loner, preferring to travel individually or in small groups with others of its kind.
Some lovely young beech strut their stuff with the remnants of their autumn colours. Taken in Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire.
Mr. Cardinal Struts a jaunty little fellow, he landed on the rail and sort of strutted around like he was in charge, found in North Carolina.
Our 11 day Flickr event was such a wonderful time and I know I've made some lifelong friends. One of the places we went was Farm Ventures in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. They raise Andalusian horses; the one here was a show horse for many years and won many competitions. The horses put on quite a show for us.
