First time shooting with my own, Sam wasn't around since he was still living in Van, so I rocked out by myself. I didnt do too bad I think, let me know what I can improve on though.

Gaming: on the EOS 600 you can set the number of exposures for a frame from 1 to 9, in addition the camera has a fast motor drive, up to 5 fps when the continuous AF is switched off. Here I select 5 exposures, exposure correction -2 EV, continuous shooting, manual focus and aperture priority AE. Then I pressed the shutter button until the camera stopped after 5 exposures automatically and the film was transported. Yes, there is no reason for the camera to stop (not until the end of the film), because continuous shooting is selected, but a clever programmer had thought of that case and built in that stop, nice. As you can see, I didn't use a tripod.
If you want to estimate the speed of a car, perhaps of the silver one in the foreground:
It is perhaps 4 to 5 m long, so it moves about 7 m per frame.
Duration from frame to frame: 1 / 5 fps = 0.2 s
7 m / 0.2 s = 35 m/s = 126 km/h ~ 79 mph

Well I needed someone to help test if my strobe was setup correctly. While I changed setting, my lovely assistant did her impression of Joe Dirt.
Strobist information: 580 EXII on ground infront of model set to 1/8 zoomed in a tad bit. Fired by pocketwizard.

Light tent behind the garlic with a single Bowens GM200 (high powered) inside pointing away at foamcore on the back. Camera left side polystyrene panel with Bowens snooted GM200 pointing from camera right to left above subject. All strobe.

The DIY Home Studio – This is my setup for the 32" Softbox. Stobe positioned camera right almost 45º from the flowers. Also the head tilt is 45º from level to reflect light off the backdrop and reflector.
Photoflex 42” White reflector used to bounce the light from the window back into the daffodils.
Calumet Genesis 200w Strobe @ 25% power.

Took some time today to expand on my challenge of photographing smoke. I ended up with 11 interesting photo's that show how amazing a single trail of smoke can appear when captured in a photograph and "colorized" to enhance some of the details. Like flames in a fire or clouds in the sky, these smoke trails can - with a little imagination - become nearly anything!
Photographs were taken of smoke rising from a single incense stick, using two (2) off camera strobes set at varying power levels ranging from 1/2 power to 1/8 power. One flash was set at just over 90 degrees to the camera (to reduce lens glare). The second strobe was set in front of the smoke and below the incense stick facing upwards.

I picked up a two light Photogenic Power Light 1250 strobe kit at an estate sale last Saturday...set them up and gave them a spin yesterday...very pleased with how they work.
Bit of a test we tried at the Essex group shoot.
The background was white and there was quite a bit of ambient light which made this pigging difficult. Much easier on a black background in a dark room.
580EX II camera left, 554EZ camera right both set in "Multi" mode at 3Hz, 6 flashes and 1/32 power. Triggered with RF-602 wireless.
