Little experimentation for my art project. Filming movement within space, effect created using a strobe light.
This Ford F750 had LED strobe lights installed at Shore Cellular so it can be seen in construction and high traffic areas where it is used.
This is another shot of the same sculpture. I only have the one strobe to the side in this one to provide a little contrast between the layers.
Trying out some strobist stuff. The bottle was placed on top of an upturned glass vase. I put a SB900 into the vase and flagged it off with some black foam board. Flash to left and right for rimlight at 1/16 th power modded with shootthrough and sb on zoom 105mm.

So my mother bought me a 580EXII and this is the first picture I tried to use it for. I went to buy a cable to get it off camera, but the Canon cables cost 60 euros here in Madrid so I decided to be patient and look for a 3rd party. In the meantime, I tried to use it in a way to paint with light in a shot I'd typically take and so that's what you see there in the upper right.
This is my first post to strobist.

The durian is a fruit from southeast Asia that is banned from public transportation! The smell of the ripe fruit has been describes as rotting flesh, sewage, and old gym socks and onions. I as warned that people have thrown up after cutting it open. The pulpy insides are like custard and are usually described as simply heavenly. Phil and I had to try it! D made us eat it outside.
This guy weighed in at 10 lbs and those thorns hurt. I can't image seeing these devils falling from the trees. I found it at a local Korean market. They are shipped frozen, which (disappointingly) cuts down on the foul odor. To me it smelled like the inside of a pumpkin, just slightly off and real earthy, a little sweet. The insides were like custard, and were strangely sweet. Every once and a while we got a bite that took our breath away (sulfur, yuk). But is was not bad. I will have to try it again.
Strobist: single bare Vivitar 285 from camera right fired into cove (dining room nook). at 1/2 power.
