Miss Cecily's stylized ballerina statue is twenty five years old. She suddenly moved to a new location. Her veneer needs restoration. I shot this series by moonlight, and a strand of tiny lights across the way...
I experimented with different effects to see what suited her the most. I can never decide these matters. I see something unique about each one...

these are the blinds in my sister's room. although she's had them like this forever (with the ghosts and eyeball string lights), I had never noticed how pretty they were when shut.
This year, I have decided to a challenge of sorts; I will be taking a different photograph each day during the month of December. As I slowly recover from that awful food poisoning, my coworkers decided to have lunch at B-Dub Wi Wis todayâthatâs Buffalo Wild Wings. For some reason, I decided that the best idea would be to try their hottest flavor on the menu, blazinâ, for the first time. Nothing goes better with food poisoning that ghost peppers! That said, the stuff wasnât nearly as hot as I expected it to be. It was much hotter the second time around, though.
Back at home, our new patio string lights finally came! With unmatched efficiency, Emily and I hung those dudes up and were basking in their glow in no time. The patio is finally starting to look finished!
A closer look at the coloured lights on plastered across one of the 'Pooram Pandal' decorative shrines located along the periphery of the massive 'Swaraj Roundabout' rotunda in the Southern Indian city of Trichur in Kerala. The many decorated shrines made the setting a riot of colour. I was beginning to get a feel of what would probably follow. But where are the elephants? The attraction numero uno, apart from the sheer atmosphere are the caparisoned elephants! We will meet them soon enough- see subsequent pictures. (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)

The entire Pooram parade takes place around a huge traffic roundabout called the Swaraj Roundabout in the town of Trichur, now Thrissur. This rotunda is reputed to be the largest in the world. The Vadukkanathan Hindu temple from which the parades originate is located inside this rotunda, and the elephant parades go round it. On the periphery of this massive Swaraj Roundabout are several gorgeously illuminated shrines called Poora Pandal. I couldn't make out if these are premanent structures or made from bamboo and paper like some of the Chinese decorations. Here is one of the gorgeously illuminated 'Poora Pandal' shrines. ahaha i literally took this picture at 6am. i had just gotten back from nightwatch (it's supposed to end at 5.. but neither my supervisor or me could get a few doors to unlock so we got delayed) and was all snuggled up in my bed, when all of a sudden a thought popped into my head: "i bet the lights on our balcony look really cool right now."
and then i couldn't sleep. all i could think about was taking a picture of those damn lights haha, so then i crawled out of bed. i tried taking the picture without my glasses on at first, but i realized that the focusing would be all off (since my vision is horrible). after i got my glasses and took the picture, i could finally fall asleep :)
