Week 43
The road trip to the party. I started this week off in Atlanta shooting a commercial for work. This was another one of those jobs that had us working on a beautiful golf course all day. There is something so amazing about these golf courses that I get to see. The scenery is so perfect that sometimes you almost can't believe your eyes. The job went well as usual and as soon as we wrapped we were back on the road heading home. We made it back on Wednesday night, just in time to help set up the office party for Friday. This was my first time going to one of these office parties due to me finally being of age. It was pretty amazing and I had a wonderful time though it is weird to watch a bunch of co-workers and people you have known your whole life to go completely crazy. On Saturday, the day after the party, I headed out with Eric, bought a new film camera, and shot some sunset scenes with him. Scott joined us later in the night and we ended up buying some pixie lights and tried to mimic the famous Instagram look that everyone likes to do. I think they turned out pretty cool!
I can't wait to see what this next week will bring!

Last weekend I came across the abandoned movie set for the remake of the 1984 classic "Footloose" which was filmed here in Bostwick a few days prior. The crews have moved on to Social Circle and beyond and likely have dismantled this set by now, but I really liked the ghostly and somewhat surreal feel it gave to the gin, with no one around. I wish at least the lights could stay!

The Instagram version the the illuminated section of street just below my hotel room- I'd posted the same picture a couple of pics earlier taken with my Nikon P900. When I'd landed at the hotel around 04:00 earlier that day, the illuminations had been switched off. They remained off throughout the day of course, naturally. I was hoping the bright light wouldn't flood my hotel room at night and disturb my sleep but it didn't mercifully. The lights were basically string lights put up in decorative fashion and were very low intensity. Let's see... today started out with me laying low and hanging out with a friend (unfortunately she didn't feel good but got better as the day went on). Then, Becky and I went to "The Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group" which is a new place that's only been in business for two weeks. When the group of us walked to Lake Calhoun yesterday, we passed by there and Dusty and I both commented on their 50's diner/cafeteria decor including having the main hallway lined with yellow, green, and blue lunch trays. (It's easier with a picture which I sadly didn't take.)
After other people went to bed, I decided that I wanted a picture outside. I forgot that my friends had all these solar-powered string lights up, so I tried out some shots with them. If I had more time to shoot, I would have tried to incorporate more textures (like the paint chips and light surface).
