The edge of the storm that hit the north side of Atlanta.

Last in this rooftop series.

Better on black.

At the top of our driveway, leading under the driveway to the sea. Part of the big project a few winters back when the weight of storm water caused the retaining walls to break, and a large hole to open up in our lawn.

An early evening storm passed through...they hardly make it across the St. John River we were told--not at this time of the year....

I'm finally getting to the last bit of photos from the Fiesta Bowl Parade. I am probably the only person on the planet that hasn't seen all of the Star Wars movies, so please feel free to tag the photo with notes to identify any of the characters. Send me a Flickr Mail and I'll add you as a contact so you can tag if you want.

Thanks!

storm clouds over the Gold Coast

(SOOC except for straightening horizon a tad and adding signature)

As this storm rapidly approached the lake from the west, my son and I dragged the canoe onto a forested island on the lake, made shelter from fallen limbs and dried leaves, and waited out the worst of it before beginning the 2 mile paddle back to the boat launch!

Storm in the morning. Caribbean.

Looking back towards my house & the storm clouds that are approaching.

After driving further south along the developing line of storms, the core of another HP supercell looms to the west as seen from 4 miles south of Arkansas City, Kansas, at the Oklahoma border. A brief rope tornado was reported 1 mile north of Arkansas City 17 minutes later.

Tonight's storm rollin' in.

These are my two Dreadnoughts, part of the Storm Giants chapter, 4th company. One is from the AOBR kit, and the other is a regular kit model. I used magnets to swap out weapons on the kit model. The smoke launcher and searchlight are also held by magnets. I bought the "gravel" at a local hobby store (think railway section). The rusted girders on the ground are styrene parts available at hobby stores.

A developing supercell forms at the tail end of the line of storms through Kansas and northern Oklahoma. As seen from 3 miles north of Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Finally had a decent storm come through. The area needed the rain, and we definitely got what we needed

dia 24 de diciembre y era un dia despejado y caluroso,a eso de las 7Pm se aprecia desde el sur unas tormentosas nubes, aquel dia lluvio fuerte toda la noche...

This video is made from 1382 full-resolution (3000x2000) photos made this evening.

The Nikon D40 can shoot 2.5 shots per second and some 1500 photos fit in a 4 Gb memory card, so it's easy to stuff your hard disk. Taking all the frames and compressing them at full resolution using h.264 at 32678 Mbit/s is the best way to store them.

In this particular case, the 1382 photos occupied 2.7 Gb, whereas the compressed video is a mere 84 Mb. The image quality of each individual frame is very good.

Just about ready to unleash it's fury, the air went dead still but not a drop of rain fell.
