After having pulled over three times during massive rain and hail, it finally occured to me that I was travelling in a moving storm system. The storm moved south along the highway and so was I.
Ya know what this is leading up to - shortly after dark the first thunder storm of the season rolled through - oh boy

I had a great view form the terrace of the huge storm approaching the city yesterday. We had thunder, lightning and a real downpour.

Von der Terrasse aus hatte ich eine super Aussicht als eine Sturmfront auf die Stadt zukam. Es begann mit Blitz und Donner und endete in einem Wolkenbruch.
So last night here in Bardstown Kentucky we got ourselves a heck of a storm. And where was I? Outside photographing it. The rain started pretty early so I had to shoot most from the deck under the awning. I kept running through the house from the front door to the back because it was going down all around us. A couple bolts actually fell pretty close. One in particular was so close that I could see glowing embers from the tree or telephone pole that it hit.
Storm rolled in quickly, Dropped a tornado down in the neighboring county then dissipated all within 20 minutes.

Leading edge of storm clouds preceding a severe thunderstorm. We only had 0.05 inch of rain out of these clouds, but had some wind damage and a dead tree came down.
This is one I believe it could have been a better photo if it wasn't taken through a moving car,but I kinda like it.

The De Zwaan is the only authentic, working Dutch windmill in the United States.
From today's (11.26.2011) drive into Kananaskis. It got really windy, and as you can see from the clouds over Mount Kidd, a storm was moving in. The roads were really icy from the recent snow melt and refreezing, so I turned around and went to Canmore and Banff on the main, clear, highway.
I can only assume this is storm damage from the morning (overnight hours) of Sunday, May 6.
