This supercell developed over the Alberta foothills and travel east. This shot was taken by team member, Matt Johnson (@MesocyclonicWX) near Caroline, Alberta
Leading edge of storm clouds preceding a severe thunderstorm. We only had 0.05 inch of rain out of these clouds, but had some wind damage and a dead tree came down.
We hit three storms during this shot one hour flight from Bangkok to Hat Yai. The last one looks like this. We in fact got caught by this storm only a few moment after landing. This was captured on Thai Airways A300-600 during our approach into the airport.
A fantastic storm while I was staying in west bay caravan park.
Lightning is a massive electrostatic discharge between the electrically charged regions within clouds or between a cloud and the surface of a planet. The charged regions within the atmosphere temporarily equalize themselves through a lightning flash, commonly referred to as a strike if it hits an object on the ground. There are three primary types of lightning; from a cloud to itself (intra-cloud or IC); from one cloud to another cloud (CC) and between a cloud and the ground (CG). Although lightning is always accompanied by the sound of thunder, distant lightning may be seen but may be too far away for the thunder to be heard.
The Lebanese Independence Day, on November 22, 1943, is a national day celebrated in remembrance of the liberation from the French Mandate which was exercised over Lebanese soil for over 23 years.
The Lebanese army and the Lebanese American University however agreed to have a few army guys go to the LAU campus on November 11, 2009 and put off a show in celebration of Lebanon's National Day.
The last act of the show was the snake-eating part. Soldiers in the Lebanese army tore apart live snakes on campus and ate them alive, giving half the girls a heart attack, and the other half a sexual desire that was noticeable for the next couple of hours.
7th May.
More storm damage I hadn't previously seen. There is an 8 foot hole you can walk in under the concrete slab. It is still holding water. The ravine that the water drug runs hundreds of feet into the subdivision behind this house.
I can only assume this is storm damage from the morning (overnight hours) of Sunday, May 6.

Fleeting moment just after sunset & just before a thunderstorm. The last light from the sun casting a lovely pink / lilac glow on the heavy thunder clouds.
This is about the roughest sea I have seen since I came to live in Kirkcaldy. It was a filthy day - wet, cold and dull. Very difficult to keep the lens clear of water from the rain and the spray. More wasted shots than usable!
Storms Across America - Nebraska: Day 3/7
The Storm Prediction Center had forecast this day to be very active, highlighting not only a Moderate Risk, but also a High Risk for severe weather over a good chunk of Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa.
My chase-partners were located approximately 3 miles south of Elwood, NE at this point, looking due west at a developing wall cloud, an associated beavertail and a fairly mature precipitation core to the north.
Classic structure, but the storm was cyclic and didn't really organize a persistent wall cloud for nearly another hour.
More on this storm over the next few days!

I just got back from a trip down to Caswell Beach - the weather was hot and stormy. Lots of wind and big clouds made for a few decent pictures....
