A modern infra-structure facing the Atlantic Ocean, the dock is prepared to receive large cruising ships and inter-island ferries. The marina provides space for more than six hundred boats. It offers logistical support and commercial and leisure areas.

A view looking back from the marina viewing steps.

"Storm King Wall" by Andy Goldsworthy at Storm King Art Center. I guess a curvy stone wall can be art, too.

Tried getting some photos of the lightning tonight.. But the cloud cover was to heavy...

So only managed to get the one decent one.

This was on the same day as night fell. By now the worst part of the storm had moved on but it was still spitting out a lot of lightning, so I decided to take some shots of that as well. This was the best shot I could get for the night, hence it's the one I decided to post.

From one of the various summer storms that we've had this season. Plainsboro, NJ.

Brutal Ice Storm hit us December 21 weekend. everything was shrouded in beauty.

8.31.15

Within about 1/2 hour, this dust storm tripled in size as it moved from below PHX metro, through the downtown area & approached the North Valley.

As it grew in size, it picked up speed & debris while decreasing visibility during rush hour traffic.

By the time it arrived in the North Valley where we live, it was an ugly dust storm combined with a thunderstorm.

This combination usually ends up coating everything in a thin layer of really fine mud & can really mess up a pool filtration system.

The clouds were amazing though. They looked like giant puffs of glowing cotton candy from the frequent lighting strikes inside.

This time of year with the Haboobs, Monsoon storms & rare microburst, are also beautiful in a strange & very messy way.

**This was taken atop the Adobe Dam on 35th ave., S of Pinnacle Peak.

We had three separate cloud layers converging. (Reprocesssed)

Contrast boosted storm clouds.

Today I rode the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria and back again. The ride over was flat calm, but when I returned home in the afternoon, this storm hit...hard and fast, about a 1/2 hour before I boarded to go home

It was a "Great and Fun" ride home...Just the kind I like. The wilder, the crazier, the rougher the better.

I truly love it...when it is wild. So...it was a great ride home

Intentionally overdone for that extra dramatic effect...

High contrast storm base and rolling fields east of Sterling, Colorado—June 1st. There are no shortage of worthy dynamic range challenges photographing these clear, high plains, backlit-underlit storms. Yonder Scary Looking Cloud went through a couple RFD shelf cloud/wall cloud iterations before falling apart further east.

One of Vader's guards during the show. They come down out of the audience and then do a pass or two around the stage.

Damage from the Tuesday, June 21, 2011 storm on the North Branch Trail near Skokie and Morton Grove

This storm took place a few weeks ago. It was a little scary.

No storms today, but we have (thankfully) received plenty of rain.

Storm in West Ridge 8/2/15

Big, cold drops of rain soaked my clothes in 30 seconds.

I just want to climb up into these and play on them...minus the whole 'getting struck by lightning part', of course.

This crazy formation over Woodhouse Moor was quite scary...
