The Bucegi plateau is more than 2000m high (the highest mountain is Omul Peak - 2505 meters).
The Bucegi Mountains are located in central Romania, south of the city BraÅŸov. They are part of the Southern Carpathians group of the Carpathian Mountains.
To the east, the Bucegi Mountains have a very steep slope towards the popular tourist destination Prahova Valley (a.o. BuÅŸteni and Sinaia). At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele.
The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the mythical figure Zalmoxis resided in a cave.

While on a shoot for a friends' business, thunderstorms rolled in making for some unique photo opportunities.
We were out in this storm when it hit. It was so scary. Tree limbs and debris flying everywhere and when we finally made it home we found our electric was out.
We were so thankful to make it home in that terrible thunder storm.
This is why I couldn't comment yesterday very much. You all have a wonderful weekend!
