Had this location on my list to visit for a while. I knew that the track would lead to the tree so when i saw that stormclouds were drifting in i drove over to it with this as result.
With a Lee ND 0.6 Hard Grad
We often see updraft cloud but this one was stretching far left that I could not frame entirely with my Canon 17-40mm.
I was hoping to catch some lightning tonight, but this massive storm front was moving so fast towards me, that I really only managed to grab a handful of photos before I had to run for cover. The wind arrived before the rain, and it blew up a huge sandstorm, sending people running in all directions. I hightailed it up the beach and headed for the nearest shelter under the veranda of the Adelaide Sailing Club, but then got stranded there while I waited for the rain to ease. At least I was out of the wind and the rain where I was. Then I drove home through blacked out suburbs, and saw big gum tree branches hanging in powerlines. That was some of the craziest weather I've seen
This cloud formation was captured about 15 minutes ago. I was looking out the window when I saw this amazing phenomenon. It has been exceptionally hot lately, so this is most likely a storm approaching.
The skies begin to clear after my first tornado warning. I was out of cell coverage and didn't get the warning when it really counted. This is a composite of six images.
Now *here* is a storm cloud for you all! One manifigent cloud all by itself, to the south of Tallahassee, out in the Gulf of Mexico. The 11th floor of my residence gives me lots of sky.
Amazing clouds, no two alike.
Later in the evening when the setting sun starts to shine through the storm clouds it creates some stunning color.
Multi exposure 3 images, +/- 2 stops.

Early August 2023...
Storms were predicted & delivered right after midnight. Severe Warned for high winds & hail... This was a sculptured outflow dominate storm. I learned a long time ago doing night storm photography that you have some extra light to make this happen. Not the light from the storm but I use the city lights to help paint the sky.
Sitting now on the so called edge of the city (always expanding). One the few last places I can get good clear view of the sky to the west without power-lines... Probably the last year I can take snaps from this location since there is construction going on all around.
I forgot one of my nice 4k cams with extra sensitivity for night... Figures I had everything ready but forgot to load the battery. Cam in hand I went to town with this set of images with this most impressive ominous overnight shelf cloud. This was an Night Time Eye Candy Storm. What a beauty!
