ift.tt/1uGTkJi: Pikk Hermann or Tall Hermann is a tower of the Toompea Castle, on Toompea hill in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The first part was built 1360-70. It was rebuilt (height brought to 45,6 m) in the 16th century. A staircase with 215 steps leads to the top of the tower. The tower consists of ten internal floors and a viewing platform at the top. - ift.tt/2gn5ulT //
Saturday Self Challenge: Steps/Stairs
Our garden steps as they are - no sweeping of leaves, pulling weeds or clipping back plants to make them look tidy. You get to see it as it almost always is!
The steps outside All Saints in Stamford in the sunshine.

Once upon a time there was a doorway at the top of these steps but I don't think it's seen the light of day for a while now HSfS!
Photo 37/100: my 100x photos this year will be of foliage; so woodland scenes, individual trees, plants & fallen leaves 🍂🌿🌳 Way behind with uploading so please forgive the forthcoming deluge of foliage photos as I attempt to complete my project.
Steps leading down into the bowels of Battersea Power Station's gleaming new shopping mall. Taken using a 21mm wide angle lens.
Light & shadows with people sitting on the purple steps inside the Sydney Opera House. Have a great Sunday. I still don't like the new Flickr!!!
Some very slippery steps in Lerwick, leading down to an interesting World War II installation. Needless to say I fell going down them!
For an account of my trip to the Shetland Islands:
One of our guests has style!
We had lunch with friends and I couldn't resist asking her to pose on their steps
Back to work tomorrow - I'm almost looking forward to getting back into a routine!
Another stormy day in Cornwall. This a shot from the cliffs at Bedruthan Steps. You can no longer get down to the beach area as there has been a cliff fall recently and it is too dangerous at this time. This is a long exposure, hand held with the camera wedged against a post with Kase Magnetic filters added.
Time to start using Flickr again after quite an extensive break, although I've been out with my camera more than ever. I miss the social side of Flickr with contacts I don't have over on Facebook, so i'm back!
One from a trip to Cornwall a couple of months ago. What a coastline! Instantly fell in love with both Bedruthan and Godrevy.
The steps up to what is one of the best views in Staffordshire in my opinion, feel free to share yours if you have a better one :)
Carnewas & Bedruthan Steps
The name Bedruthan Steps, applies to both the beach and the stacks, originally referred to the perilous steps that were hewn out of the cliff face. Carnewas, in Cornish Karn Havos, means rock pile of summer dwelling and Bedruthan, in Cornish Bos Rudhen, means Red One's dwelling.
The signs at the top of the 149 steps taking you down to the soft golden sand of Bedruthan Beach warns visitors not to swim in these waters due to heavy rips, fast tides and submerged rocks. The one mile of the beach |(1.5km) of the beach is highly dangerous at ALL stages of the tide so swimming and entry to the water should not be considered even in calm conditions such as today. Calm water is a rare thing along this stretch of coastline. I just struck it lucky having such calm conditions today.
When walking on this stretch of beach be very aware of high tide times as the beach disappears completely. The beach is usually closed from 1st. November to 28th. February.
The weather is due to change next week and I will try to get back and retake a picture from the same point so this beach can be seen on a wilder day.
I have also posted a video clip.
Steps in Mooloolaba beach at high tide. I had been panning to go back to this location for a while as I really like that rock and was wishing for a better sunrise but it was a bit overcast. The long exposure was able to capture some of the limited colours displayed.
Steps of the old pedestrian tunnels in the abandoned tunnels at Euston. Now blocked off you can see the tunnels as they were at the time they were closed.
Sunset on the beach looking toward the Apostles via Gibson Steps, very hazy as a sea mist was rolling in giving a lovely softness and glow in the atmosphere with a cheeky little sunburst..
Two hundred granite steps make their way up the hillside on Asticou Terraces. Although a moderately steep climb there are several terraces where it is possible to rest and admire the view of Northeast Harbor in the distance. The climb ends at the top of the hill and opens to the beautiful Thuya Garden. Northeast Harbor, Mount Desert Island, Maine.
It's been over two weeks since I shot or edited an image. (I'm focused on redoing my website and just haven't had time). Took Miss Viv out on Saturday to fix that. She is a great little actor and will work hard for KinderJoy. ❤
