The steps at the end of Aberdeen Beach, NE Scotland

If you do not know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.

The track to Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet National Park on Tasmania's east coast, is one of the most popular in the island state. So much so that in many places steps like this have been made to assist walkers in the climb over The Hazards.

So let's commence a walk to the famous beach. Our first destination is the Wineglass Bay lookout. But there's plenty to see on the way up.

A lovely set of steps in Alonnisos

Saturday Self-Challenge - Unit of measure. Hope this is ok even though the measurement of the step varies from person to person.

2022 one photo each day

We recently traveled to Vancouver where I had a chance to capture a few non landscape images. My goal was to explore some of the nooks and crannies around the Vancouver Public Library. Here, steps appear golden from reflected light. This is as a result of "the building's walls that are clad in sand stone coloured pre-cast concrete." It was a superb afternoon working with existing light, shapes, angels, and a few people.

Absolute fun.

Light on the steps to a small chapel. Uppsala cathedral, Sweden.

Yesterday was a really warm day, so Vas'ka tried to find the cool place in the shadow on the steps in patio. Lilies of the valley

grow in the pot next to the stairs.

Thank you all for visits, faves and comments!

Evening shot looking south across the "Steps" (in Cornwall's north coast) and using a ND Grad filter - with the help of Matt Whorlow, a Cornish landscape photographer. Edited in Fuji's raw converter and refined in Luminar.

…..We went to Bridgnorth today for a change to Shrewsbury - our normal routine! Much smaller town but still very interesting, it is split in Low & High town and connected by a Cliff Railway & these steps for foot traffic commuting between them! I gave the shot a few extra nudges to give a more old feel to it…..HSS. Alan:-)

Stepping from the light into the dark

As seen on a walk in Ponders End.

I didn't get too many good sunrises on my Trip along the Great Ocean Road. This however was a particularly stunning one with a patchy covering of high cloud which lit up over the Gibson Steps.

On Sunday I finally made my way into Cornwall for a wander on the coast for the first time since Lockdown began.

I'd gone down to West Pentire to see how the poppies looked down there but I was a bit disappointed with this year's display, so I ventured further North up to Bedruthan Steps instead.

Bedruthan Steps is one of my favourite spots on the Cornwall Coast, and for a while that evening I had the place all to myself which was wonderful.

The heavy cloud that had been hanging around all day moved East at sunset and I was left with a clear, uninteresting sky, but there was some gorgeous light on the cliffs just before the sun hit the horizon.

Pamukkale,

meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey.

The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water.

It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.
