Steps on Water
Two crows, quiet residents of our parks, stepped into a shallow puddle as if checking what the night had left behind. Their slow rhythm, the tilt of their heads, the careful picking through tiny leaves and grasses — everything feels like a small morning ritual of nature that usually goes unnoticed unless you truly stop and look.
There is something calming in their steps on the water: as if they’re gently parting the surface of the world, opening for a moment a window into a simpler, quieter time. And the water, always patient, remembers every one of their movements and returns it as a trembling reflection — like a sentence that remains unspoken.
Small things. Ordinary birds. A moment that could easily disappear — and precisely because of that, it becomes even more precious.
Basically the same image posted weeks ago but painted AND with one change that you will need to look carefully for. You'll never find it.
These steps were inundated with tourists just hours before and will be so again as soon as the sun comes up.
I love this time of the morning. The light is pleasing and there are no crowds, allowing me to work at my own pace and where I want. Sometimes I look for people to include in my photographs but usually at night when again the light is good. But the morning is my favorite time. I own the morning. I'll sleep when I get old.
It is said that you get a free wish if you run up the 62 steps to the dome of Amalfi without taking a breath.
They probably wished back the Roman times and now wear the same sandals as 2,000 years ago.

The smoke you can see in the distance I`m not really sure about I believe it`s burning off something to encourage new growth but I stand to be corrected on that ,,,
Ancient temples have always been one of the most amazing threads in the tapestry of Indian culture. The Modhera Sun Temple was made in the early 11th century. The sun temple has a very interesting step well built around the same time to address the scarcity of water, then. The temple is designed in such a way that during every equinox, the first ray of the rising sun enters the sanctum, filling the shrine with a golden glow.
In 2014, Modhera Sun Temple entered the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
In the picture here are the steps to the reservoir. The women in this part of India are known to wear colourful drapes. She made an interesting subject against the stark neutral of the stones. Hardly any tourists in these times made this picture possible.
The cloud cover wasn't promising, but thankfully the sun peeked out beneath the clouds at just the right time for a few minutes to give me that golden light.

One part of the rocky steps up to Thuya Gardens. Taken the day before Summer Party when it was more gray and overcast.
Confession: There were a lot of steps. It was near the end of the day. Michael had gone down to look at Northeast Harbor. Sarah and I took the trail up to the Thuya Gardens. There seemed to be no end in sight to the steps and no, you couldn't see from the bottom just how high up you had to climb. Sarah went ahead to reconnoiter and when she came back, we decided that I would come back the next day while she and Michael did their mostly vertical hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain.

We had a family break to Newquay this weekend and Saturday evening I went out to Bedruthan Steps to catch the sunset. At the camp site it was very overcast and extremely hazy so I was sceptical if I was actually going to see the sun at all so was pleased to see that the further away from Newquay I got the more broken up the cloud was!
