Garretstown cliffs. These steps intrigue me. They're in a remote location, a good distance from houses or roads,. Smugglers landing point?
The 199 steps in Whitby lead up the hill to St.Mary's church. At several places there are benches that were originally installed to allow coffin bearers to rest while making their way up to the graveyard.
Though this picture doesn't actually have a waterfall in it, I put it in my Waterfalls (album) because it is a viewpoint of Salt Creek Falls from high above. Salt Creek Falls is the second tallest waterfall in Oregon; so you can imagine this is quite high up. Seeing the falls and seeing and using these steps is, for me, part and parcel of my trip to the falls. I never see one without the other. That is the *Soul* of this photo.

The station steps once leading to Steyning Station on the Steyning Line, part of the Shoreham to Horsham railway line (no longer in existence)
Anyone who knows me well knows The famous Steps.
Note to Zac. Yes, there is a black and white version which I may show at some point, but I liked the faint blueness here. A week sun was directly in my face.
"The Exorcist" (1973) movie location where Father Damien Karras (Jason Miller) jumps out of a window, and plummets to his death down the 97 steps that lead from Prospect to M Streets.
