Bedruthan Steps is a stretch of coastline located on the north Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay, in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is within the parish of St Eval and is part owned by the National Trust. The Trust maintains a shop and cafe and the cliff–top view of rocks stretching into the distance along Bedruthan beach makes the area a popular attraction for tourists and painters. The property affords walks along the coast path and the steep steps at Bedruthan allow access to a series of rocky beaches at low tide (not owned by the Trust). Signs at the top of the steps down to the beaches warn visitors not to risk swimming in these waters due to heavy rips, fast tides and submerged rocks.

Crude stone steps lead up to the lighthouse and there is no keeper's house.

Built in 1887, destroyed by German bombs in 1943 and rebuilt to original specifications in 1994. The 23 foot tall stone tower is perched on an isolated rock in the harbor of Andros (Chora) and is unique among Greek lighthouses and probably all of Europe. It was the first Greek lighthouse to be automated.

Two white flashes are displayed every 15 seconds.

The town of Andros is also called Chora and is the largest community on Andros Island and is a frequent stopping port for cruise ships. Population around 4000 in the last census.

Had a trip out to Whitby with good friend and fellow photographer Andy Aveyard. He is at the bottom of the 199 steps at whitby his shot can be seen here www.flickr.com/photos/ukseagull/

There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps.

colourful steps leading to a community

Blogged herehttp://gogokim.blogspot.com/2012/03/rainbow-on-my-deck.html

I saw this 1000 steps challenge in a video by Thomas Heaton who’s videos I’ve been following quite some time now.

With this picture I needed to cheat a little as I needed to take a detour to reach the required 1000 steps. I’ve never published a picture from this location even that I’ve tried it a couple of times, but I’ve never been happy with the result. This time I had high hopes but as I waited to have more pleasing light all clouds disappeared from the sky. As exposure blending was not allowed, I decided to expose to the right and go with a moodier look.

This was up near Newfound Gap in the Great Smoky Mountains. It's so incredibly beautiful up there.

About halfway up these steps I realized this getting old thing ain't no joke...

Footsteps in the melting snow at Ashbridges Bay. Infrared photo. This winter has been terrible for the snow sticking around.

Shot of steps outside the Liverpool Echo arena taken from the Liverpool Wheel, I like wheels but have to admit to feeling a little uneasy about looking down from heights like this.

I quite like the patterns made by the paving here, I think it had been damp but drying in the sun which also helps the texture, I had a few with people in shot which adds interest, but this one keeps it simple.
