I was trying to photograph a sunset last night and kept getting distracted by this swan. He thought he owned the pond and kept chasing another swan couple around to get them out of his territory.
He finally came close enough to capture these shots - which, of course, I was completely unprepared for. Thanks to RAW and Photoshop Elements, here's what I came up with.
As my work is about analysing how we interpret things in our own ways I did not want to 'tell' the viewer what my aims were. If I was to say to the viewer 'perceive it in your own way' I'm telling them to perceive my work and almost forcing them to interact with it. I want any interaction and perception of my work to be organic. Not writing an informative statement, I chose to use the statement as an element of the piece. The statement is a collection of blank quotations, in which the viewer can conjure up any line of dialogue they can interpret from the situation. I only give the viewer 2 lines which can only hint at the presence if a situation but link tenuously and separated by blank quotes. There's is also a stage direction that suggests the room we're are seeing is after this scene because we encounter the room with the light left on.
Note-Grids are a tool for collecting and connecting objects of thought (in this case, words).
They treat words and other manifestations of thought as objects that can be freely manipulated to create new meaning.
They break meaning up into individual words to facilitate a more fluid, intuitive, and improvisational approach to knowledge production.

You could interpret this heavily broken apart logo as some kind of trendy anti-US stencil art rubbish. Or an alternative to Milton Glazers' 9/11 response variation on the original. But it's actually just what happens when you buy shitty $5 t-shirts at prime tourist spots.

I had the unique opportunity to deliver my horse, "Kadan," when I was a part of an internship at North Carolina State University. During a very cold night in February of 2008, Kadan was born - I remember it like it was yesterday. I told myself that I could not get attached to any of the horses I delivered during that program because I already had a horse, "Isabelle" at home. However, Kadan captured my heart with the way he would run to me and nuzzle his head in my jacket. I ended up purchasing Kadan from the University because I knew I could not let this special animal go. Kadan and I constantly switch roles as teacher and student because everyday he teaches me something new, and I hope that he learns something from me as well.
"Whatever they say, the youth house stays!" A building that has been occupied for years on Nørrebro by radical youngsters is constantly under pressure from the local authorities. All I say is that Nørrebro would lose some of it's flavour if it were to be closed.
