Net Zero Needs Nuclear Power, Shared Presentations Stage 3, Thematic Arena 3, Opportunity petal, an IAEA Statement Event at the United Nations Climate Change Conference UNCCC held at the Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Blue Zone, 1 December 2023
The IAEA Event: Net Zero Needs Nuclear Power will highlight the crucial role of nuclear power as part of the energy mix. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mr Rafael Mariano Grossi will announce the ‘IAEA Statement on Nuclear Power’ supported by 40 countries, both those already operating nuclear power plants and newcomers. Together these countries acknowledge that all available low-carbon technologies, including nuclear power, should be recognized, and actively supported. The Statement underlines the benefits of nuclear power, including that nuclear power plants produce no harmful greenhouse gas emissions; that nuclear energy contributes to energy security and the stability of power grids; and that it mitigates air pollution at a local level.

I have long been fascinated with Art. Whether it involved adorning the inside of my garden shed with crayons when I was five or experimenting with different styles of drawing and painting, I was always inspired to create. This passion continued to grow with my GCSE Art course leading me to appreciate that a future within the Art world was the only option for me. Having enjoyed Art A-Level, I am now preparing for the next step with a foundation course to further my knowledge and understanding of the subject, through Art foundation.
A-level Art has not only allowed me to advance my general drawing and painting skills, but also has given me the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of media including clay and photography. I am drawn to Fine Art and have found myself being inspired by the more traditional styles such as Lisa Milroy’s paintings and William Kentridge’s sketches and also by the more abstract paintings of Francis Bacon. In my spare time I enjoy visiting art galleries both here and abroad.
My hobbies include self-taught guitar and I regularly attend tennis coaching. I am also a keen swimmer and am currently applying to train as a lifeguard. In school, I am a member of Senior Choir and have co-run Junior Art Club, where I encouraged the younger students. I have also taken part in the Young Enterprise Scheme, as Marketing Director of a company.
For my work experience, I visited a Graphic Design Studio and did photography for their website and designed a range of logos for a client. This allowed me to see the impact images can have on consumers.
I have just begun to develop my own style in Art and would love to have the opportunity to refine this further and broaden my knowledge through the completion of your foundation course.

A Statement of Purpose is a sentence that you write, which states, in some detail, what you want to learn about in your research project. ... It will help you develop a Thesis Statement, which comes later on in the research process. It saves you valuable time and effort.

What was matilda.....?
Matilda as a whole never got around to writing a statement of its vision for the project. But the gig space collective has one we would like to share with you!
We see Matilda as a place in the heart of the city where art, music and activism collide. It is a base where grassroots projects and campaigns can flourish. It is us taking action to reclaim space in the city where people can come together and make stuff happen out of a desire for alternatives and change, rather than profit.
The space is run on the [anarchist derived] principles of self-organisation, mutual aid and co-operation. There is no hierarchy, no management committee, it is run by the people who use and contribute to the space – for us, by us!......yeah!

I received the slides from 11 films I took during June 2012 while in Arlington, Massachusetts where my daughter, Maria and I had a gallery show of 76 of my matted and framed photographs and 29 of her art work from June 3-30, 2012. I have scanned 24 or so of them so far and have started editing them as well. This photograph was taken on June 5th of our artists' statements that were hung on the wall by the front table we sat at during the show. You can see the faint reflection on the glass of the statements of some of the photographs that were hung near them. My statement I just had to update and reprint while Maria's, since she has never previously shown any of her art work, we had to write, which we managed to do between us. Mine is on top and Maria's under it. I used my photo of Still Another Perspective on mine and two of hers, Color My World and Red as examples of our work.

About bold statements: the irony is extra bitter if one promises but fails to deliver. On the other hand, I do enjoy the “declarative reality approach” taken by the author, as in “It does not look like what it looks like, it looks like what I tell you that it does.”

The ongoing “100% Natural” Series since 2006 is: Contemporary visual statements of the observed socio/polit/enviro/econo/relig/geo/natural landscapes playing out on the domestic and world stages daily as subject matter. My artworks are rendered with Natural History (Certified), using our historic past literally, allegorically, representatively, etc. as the medium upon divergent substrates visually commenting upon man's current history in this 21st Century arena and future state of affairs-the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. Subjects and issues while sometimes unsavory that are never fully addressed can never be fully resolved. Those who cannot or refuse to remember the past are condemned to repeat it, nothing new there.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH
MAN STRUCK BY CAR
VERDICT AT THE INQUEST
The circumstances in which Benjamin James Scott, aged 58 years, met his death following a collision with a motor-car driven by Cecil Monks on Beach Boad on May 4, were investigated by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at an inquest held yesterday. Sergeant O. Tocher represented the police, and Mr. G. H. Wallace appeared for the driver of the car.
In evidence, the driver said that Scott had been 12ft. or 15ft. in front of the car when witness first saw him. He had blown his horn, but that had had the effect of hurrying Scott into the path of the car. Although witness was travelling slowly, he had been unable to avoid Scott, who had run into the left-hand mudguard.
This statement was corroborated by other witnesses.
The verdict was that Scott died as a result of injuries received in an accident in which he had been knocked down by the motor-car.

I am staging my latest photography show, "Light in the Darkness", tomorrow night This one-night show focuses on the hidden potential in Detroit’s forgotten architecture. While many of the photographs are straight-on documentary-style photographs, they transcend documentation, becoming artistic statements that probe the question of historic preservation as the city's path to revival. Images which both celebrate and mourn Detroit's grandiose structures evoke comparisons with antiquity. Dark, abandoned interiors are infused with an ethereal light offering the promise of rediscovery and renewal.
