This was the 1st time I set out purely to do a startrail. I had to cut it short coz a 4x4 full of men with guns was heading my way! They were shooting rabbits and foxes, but thought I'd best pack up and get out their way ;)

Startrails over Derwentwater. After a day of traveling around the Lake District shooting landscapes, I couldn't resist the temptation of doing some startrails at Derwentwater as it was quite clear! There was a small amount of cloud around and the obvious problem of light pollution from Keswick but I'm still quite please with the result.

The star trails are dotted because so far I haven't been able to figure out how to disable long exposure noise reduction which seems to be automatic in this camera. In practice this resulted in a 15 second exposure approximately every 45 seconds.
First attempt at startrail photography. I'm pretty pleased with the result considering this was in my backyard with more ambient light than I would have liked. Excited to get out into some properly dark locations using this technique and let the camera go for hours. This photo was 79x30sec exposures.
