(78) 1 min exposures, 14mm, f/4.0. ISO 800, Stacked with Siril

This is my very first attempt at star trails. I took this in my back garden so no castles, windmills or other dramatic foreground I'm afraid.

The attraction of this session (on Nov. 21, 2023) was the bioluminescence in this long exposure photo with the #startrails. Very small #fish were flashing all #night long like blue dots in the #sea. Maybe for mating or simply to communicate (or maybe both). One couldn’t get enough of this awesome spectacle. A video of that phenomenon can be found here: youtu.be/vuens9VtCiI?si=BbzwBaWnCeEUiFpR

I've used a #Sigma 20 mm lens at f/1.4, for 1/25'' with 40 k iso. The photo above is a stack of many short exposures adding up to a total of ~10'.

I imaged this dead tree with the Milky Way a week ago and was able to revisit and shoot from the other side for a star trail. The trails were made up of 212 20 second exposures over the course of just over an hour. Trail image was created using the free StarStaX software.

Special thanks to photographer Ibrahim AL-Nassar, who was present with me in the place of photography.

And also taught me some settings in the photoshop program Which contributed to improvement of the picture..

Startrails with a traditional haystack called "Tristen" (in german) in the foreground. The picture was taken near Langis (about 1400 m.a.s.l) in central Switzerland. The foreground is illuminated by a headlamp that I put into a shopping bag to soften the light a bit.

Star trails in my backyard last night - the red patches are roses at the bottom of the screen .

I think not only the world revolves around me, but the whole universe too! Haha, that's how illusions of grandeur came about I guess haha .
