I accidently captured the green beams from my laser I was using for polar alignment with my other camera that was shooting with MSM star tracker about a hundred feet away. I think they look cool, so I decided to keep them.
Two hour star trail taken with 8mm fish-eye lens. The smear of the Milky Way is very visible running across the image
something a bit different, taken just up the road. Its a load of shots taken over a couple of hours then poped in a free software called startrails.

Made by Startrails App from 189 images captured at 17s intervals 14mm F2.8 15s ISO640. Same images were used to create the time-lapse. Nine of that set (from the middle) were used to create the "Still" of the Milky Way.
Interestingly this is the easiest of the 'types' to make. Whether you use Startrails or a different app (e.g. Photoshop) one basically would use a LIGHTEN blend mode that "simply" uses the lightest bits of each image. Since the first image in the sequence is the lightest and cleanest exposure for the land (as it's progressively getting darker) that basically 'comes through' without needing to do any manual masking.
The "trick" is to make one's star-trails FIRST because one does NOT need to exposure ramp the images for star trails (since the light emitted by the stars does NOT change during the sequence). 15s / ISO640 / F2.8 is probably my 'default' exposure for stars ... at least in/around Melbourne.
Taken on some bluffs behind my place, on the eastern side of Colorado Springs.
This consists of 200 30-second exposures taken with a Canon 70D and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX lens at f/4 and ISO 200, plus a 30-second exposure at f/4 and ISO 400.
The night sky was crisp and clear last night. The cool change and cold winter air ensures there were little moisture to reflect the city lights.
Looks like more planes are flying again now that the borders are slowly opening. There are 2 flight within an hour in this image. These planes are most likely from Sydney or New Zealand as their flight paths are over my dwelling.
My first real startrail picture taken when it was freezing cold. At one moment the fog appeared within one minute so we had to stop taking pictures. Less star pictures so the stripes are not that long. But I like the result. Any suggestions/tips are welcome

Brandenburg bei Nacht, Sternenspuren 40x 30s 16mm f/4 ISO 800. Mein erster Versuch. Ich hätte gerne auch noch länger fotografiert für längere und schönere Lichtspuren. Leider haben mich eine kleine Rotte Wildschweine das Fürchten gelehrt. Naja geht ja aber auch so. :-)
