First attempt of star trail. Used 126 images taken from Nikon D40 taken at 30 sec exposure at 18mm f/3.5 with 400 ISO. Initially we planned 2 places which unfortunately were closed due to end of season. Found this place while looking for spots. Light from the other end of lake was bit distracting but we were running out of time so decided to go with this place. Didn't had intervalometer or shutter release cable but quick DIY trick worked very well. (in continuous shutter mode tightened folded paper on shutter button). I think my camera is old now as battery died after 42 min of continuous action. Needs lot of improvement which of course I will do...btw more than 50 flights crossed the frame

An hour of stacked 64 second exposures, dark frames disabled to avoid larger gaps. Last photo used as a dark frame, but caused a green star in the corner.

Taken from Oxfordshire, UK with a Canon 1100D with Canon 10-18mm lens. ISO-800 for 30 seconds at f/4.5, shot on continuous from 22:15 - 04:55 BST. Images stacked in StarStaX. The cumulative files were saved, processed in Lightroom then turned into a video using PIPP and Movie Maker 10.

This isn't the first time I've shot star trails from this exact position; it's part of an ongoing project I'm working on!
