Reading first started operating trolleybuses from 18 July 1936 when they took over the tram route between Caversham Bridge and Whitley Street. Five vehicles of various manufacturers were purchased and numbered from 2 to 5 (later 102 to 105). However, a Sunbeam MF2A demonstration vehicle with Park Royal lowbridge bodywork dating from 1933 was purchased to help train drivers first before entering service. This was No 1 (Later 101) and is seen at Caversham Bridge Terminus in 1943. Photo taken by the late Bill Haynes although copyright belongs to me
This is part way through attaching a tie.
I start at one edge of the mask - stitch a couple of stitches forward and then back to secure it; then stitch along the edge of the mask, and at the other end pause for a couple of backstitches; then proceed to stitch along the entire edge of the bias tape. Then I flip it over and stitch along the bias tape on the other side.
The stitching along the bias tape isn't strictly necessary, but it makes it hold up better to washing.
And... apparently this is where I stopped taking pictures.
Album 4 of 4 from the Finish Line of the Hardy Half.
Photographs from the first Hardy Half Marathon which started from Dorchester Rugby Club. The route went through beautiful Dorset countryside including the land around Hardy's Monument. The event was organised by Dorchester RIOT Running Club, Dorchester Rugby Club, Dorchester Lions Club and Casterbridge Rotary Club. It was sponsored by Parkers Estate Agents, NFU Mutual (Dorchester), The Dorset Brewing Company and the National Grid. All profits went to local charities, the main charity being the Farming Community Network. All money from the donated cake stall went to Mosaic Family Support.
I'm starting to hate this sweater. Mostly because I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the seaming, which means it takes FOREVER.
But look at the stripes on that collar!
Winter is going to start. Have to wear winter cloths such as big jackets and caps because it is so cold. Have to hide face from cold wind. Wind is damaging skin around mouth . Anyway it is very cold even it is not winter yet.
Only just over a week before I am on the other side of the World!!!
