The start of Christmas Day was a frosty one.
This week will be a bit hectic for us so hopefully I will get to see all of your images as quick as I can. In the meantime, I will thank you now in advance for having a peak at my image here.
“Just start off and then the adventure carries your way. “ Anonymous. The season is fast approaching for the warblers and other neat birds to return. I have been working a lot to save up a few loonies for our next road trips coming up soon and I am excited for our next adventures. Meanwhile, here is another set of images from last spring. It was a treat to watch a pair of Avocets wading about in a field in Saskatchewan. We don’t see these birds in our area. I shall catch up with all of you soon again.
Starting the day in the dark is not always fun. But having this sight then when arriving in Bern is a great reward.

The Philippines has only 2 seasons actually - wet and dry. But people often refer to the dry season as summer. That season officially started last week. It was a signal for people to hit the beach and hit the beach we did - at Hermana Menor (younger sister in Spanish) Island in Santa Cruz, Zambales.

My wife's family lives in Australia in an area where snow never visits. These kind of scenes never grow old for them to see whereas someone who has endured decades of Minnesota winters has to be jump-started to appreciate fleeting beauty during a mild winter thus far. A week of heavy morning fog only adds to a spectacular landscape around this unused barn.
Wooden cab and seat, fabric roof, butterfly hood, and handcrank start. I have no Idea what vintage this is but would be interested to know. There were way too many wasps living in it to inspect it more closely.

As Fall arrives Charlotte starts to produce egg sacs. Come spring her little babies will hatch and disappear into the garden.
A morning at the start of December on a very cold North Yorkshire moor and a Scotts pine levitates a full moon, just like that. BTW this is a moon, a full moon, not a Cold, wolf, worm, hunter’s etc, etc if you want to see one of those go to the North America we don’t have them in Britain.
Valley oak (Quercus lobata) at the San Louis National Wildlife Refuge. If things go well, this new branch could be around 600 years in the future.
Carrie Underwood is singing right now at ION Orchard, Singapore and I'm sulking at home. I ended work late and there's no chance in hell i can squee through pack. This is her first international concert.
I reminisced the days as a proud webmaster of a Carrie Underwood website. Now, thats just memory. If only people would acknowledge that and gimme some meet-and-greet pass. Right now, all those "self proclaimed" Carrie fans shall meet her.

Restoration of 106 year old Leeds & Liverpool Canal wide boat George at Baltic Wharf Boatyard on the River Dart in Totnes.
Once restored she will return to the Leeds & Liverpool to travel between Liverpool and Leigh on events and school visits between May and October, and overwinter at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port.
Perhaps the building is less important than this tree at Ciudadela Park .....

It was nice to start the new year with quality time on the Sonoma coast, taking in this waterfall emptying into the ocean. There were just a few days of rain by then, and since then, there have been so many more storms and Atmospheric Rivers that have hit the California Coast.
On New Year's, the sun shone all day long, and the skies were a clear blue. The clouds and color during sunset were a pleasant surprise—many thanks to Bob Bowman Photography for inspiring me to take this picture.
