I ended up taking very few film shots, most of them with the 15mm super-wideangle, but I like what it did with this.
Hot off the scanner after processing this last night. I took a number of variations to try to capture the nature of this plant. They live a long time, have incredible patterns, sharp ends, a dramatic death and give us tequila.

I have written before that everything gets more behind-the-times as you travel away from London, and have asserted that the phenomenon is quantifiable. As a rule-of-thumb I suggest five years per 100 miles. Of course it works the other way around and a provincial's day out in the capital gives him a foretaste of what awaits him five or ten years down the line: stocky, sullen-faced policemen, armed with machine-guns, who despise the public they are supposed to serve, CCTV surveillance every moment you are out of doors (and, coming soon, indoors), heightened security justified by "the present threat", edgy public sculpture of severed horses' heads and charred bodies, "entitled" people ever-willing to be "offended" on the merest of pretexts, hi-viz morons, and bollards, bollards everywhere.
So, on my own reckoning, it ought to take another fifteen years or so for these things to arrive at Six Bells, Abertillery. I like an alley. Even telegraph poles ...considered unsightly in these "environmental" days... are becoming fewer as cables are routed underground; but when did you last see a telegraph pole with those ascending foot steps? Bathrooms and kitchens jut out from the backs of houses, re-roofed, alas, and without their chimney-pots. Back walls renewed with breeze blocks and patched with sections of larch-lap fencing. Gas lights are no more and satellite dishes have come. Sir Sharpnail there, staring back as I raise my camera, probably has the right idea: keep yourself to yourself and where's the food?

Rather good tones on this one imho. I always wonder why people bother with Rodinal. I prefer HC100 for stand development by a long shot.

The only advantage I can see with the crappy weather we are having is that you can shoot with fast lenses wide-open or close to it!
The TriX in Pyrocat HD stand development takes on a bit of "true grit" look to it. The negatives are distinctly "khaki" coloured - similar to the PMK negs. Edgy look to them too.
