Remembrance Day - usually rainy and gloomy, but this year it was sunny and the crowd was huge.
I can't handle big crowds very well so we wandered off after a while.

The Olivetti Summa 15 is a mechanical calculator designed in 1949 by Marcello Nizzoli and Natale Cappellaro. I found it in a basement of the University of Genoa. It has been restored (sadly, it's not completely functional) and it is now housed in our department library.

Honestly speaking, It is very hard to take good street or candid photograph in Singapore. Generally, the people are very serious, and concern their privacy. Yet, taking photo at night might be a solution, as your camera is less visible. Thanks to the multi-cultural society, there are plenty of festivals around a year. Taking candid photo during festival celebration is another solution, as people in happy mood are less anxious to your camera,

For the past few weeks, Tyrae's charming personality has been getting him compliments and job recommendations. The compliments have been so good they have been heard even at the corporate level. Job recommendations have came in everyday. He's gotten recommendations to join some local electricians for $20 base salary, to join the guys that change the carpets around the restaurant for $15 base salary, and even several factory jobs that raise the salary every month for 2 years. That being said, he still working at the restaurant just to see what else he can get. One thing that's been exciting was that that a music manager entered the restaurant and got Tyrae's hopes up for a career as a rapper. It's too bad the rest of us aren't sharing in his opportunities, since we're all working there for our own reasons..

Down at the restaurant, there are no breaks. Management want people to stay alert between the hours of 11-3. But people working on the line take a lot of pressure. Most people that order food from the restarant order through the drive-thru, and between 11-3, there are a large amount of people that order food inside as well. It gets stressful. So stressful in fact that if one didn't sneak in a break from time to time, they would probably take out their stress on anyone nearby.

Taken close to home. I see this shot most days but only occasionally does the weather perform. There was a strong breeze late in the afternoon which was skimming the clouds across the sky. The exposure was only a couple of seconds as I was worried about the trees showing too much wind shake. Developed as most of my HP5 as stand development in rodinal at 1:100 for 90 minutes.

Kodak Gold 200, Stand developed at room temperature for 45m, Blix slightly warmed,10min. Cinestill liquid C-41 kit.
Though a technically okay-only kind of photograph, this one is still special to me as my first large format landscape, shot on 4x5.
Film stock is Ilford Delta 100, developed in tray with Caffenol-C-L, using stand development. Also, my first time with the CL brew, and first time ever trying stand development. Developed for cir. 32 min with an ambient temperature of about 20 degrees C, and the film having been exposed at ISO 80 consideration.
Now, I did scratch it a bit on the top right corner since I was handling it in the dark, along with two other negs in an 8x10 tray. Have cloned for those in the sky. The kind of light leak on the bottom left is light spilling from my unmasked lightbox copy setup, and the curl on the right is because the negative was not held flat, and also, shot on my camera phone - was just to excited to get it digitised and to invert and get on with it. Do not have a wet darkroom yet, for printing, unfortunately. Image inverted, dodged and burnt et al in the digital darkroom from then on, in Affinity Photo.
Oh, the joys of analogue photography, and the mesmerising large format, and wonderful Caffenol! :)
Other Technical Details:
Shot on a Sinar F2, with a 115mm/1:6.8 Sinaron W at f32. I think I had also held an Orange Cokin P filter in front of the lens. My first time with this Caffenol Brew and stand development as well. (Albeit, I do not recollect the shutter speed anymore – had logged it into the iPhone Light Meter App, but don't seem to find a way to bring it up... :-/ Perhaps it was something like 3 sec, if I am not wrong, I would guess.)
