I haven't seen her in weeks and was worried about her. She must have been trying to get her babies/teens out of the nest. She was booted out of my backyard by two other females. I was so happy to see her back!

Similar to the Squirrels in Hyde Park, this chap was more than happy to take food from peoples hands. I wanted to get closer to emphasise his awesome tail, but didn't want to scare him off!
Bold and brazen at that. He didn't care I was eight or so feet him. he wasn't moving. So I put the camera to my face and shot this. Then he turned around I got another shot and then he took off to the tree which was behind him. I proceeded up my ramp, as I was going into my door I wanted to make sure he wasn't close by so Jasper wouldn't give chase. The squirrel was about my head about 4 feet away, not a care in the world. I was just happy that Jasper wasn't paying attention to anything other than his toy. Day 21:365 @sharkbayte
The past few days, we've noticed that we have a squirrel with an ouchy front paw. He is walking three-legged, although he is able to use the paw, somewhat, to hold food. It was painful to watch him trying to eat. He kept slipping on the deck railing, so I put out a bowl of goodies for him. Looks like he may have squirrel pox. I saw at least one other lesion on his tummy. Life in the wild is tough! Seen on January 18, 2010 in Columbia County, New York, USA.
We spent last week up on the Durham moors hoping to get some wildlife shots but the weather was overcast and mist most days.
On the high tops the snowdrifts towered above the car and although the roads had been cleared they were mostly single track in places. A magical world for us who come from the south where we escaped most of these terrible conditions.
Spotting wildlife was not too easy but we managed to spot some and I clicked as usual
We sat in a car park and were entertained by red squirrels which was a real treat.
Simply sat in the car and clicked top my hearts content - what a day.

The chubby black squirrel's buddy was good enough to pose for me this week in exactly the same spot as her friend! I see the two of them scampering up the neighbour's tree together quite often. The wind was whipping her tail around like mad, when I took this shot. I think she also looks fairly well-fed. I think one of the neighbour's puts out seed for them.
