Promontory Circle is a wonderful hill on a peninsula squeezed between Lake Michigan and the Jackson Park Harbor. Just south of the hill is La Rabida Children's Hospital, which retains most of the look of the Columbian Exposition's replica, on this site, of the convent from which Columbus prepared for his epic journey to what would be called the New World. From the hospital and hill, patients, families and neighbors can look over the Lake to Chicago's Loop and all the wonderful features down to northwest Indiana, or see on the other side a working harbor full of sail and motor boats and two yacht clubhouses. This place for healing and serenity has been designated in the Jackson Park Framework Plan an ideal spot for a gateway monument or artwork welcoming the world to Chicago.

Walked in a different wood today - and still no parasols spotted, but we did find some interesting fungus.
I love it when something as soft as a grass stem can cause a fungus to grow in a contorted shape.

Susan MacKay volunteered to make fresh squeezed organic juice on on an antique but hardy Champion Juicer. The juicer was put to the test for 4 hours straight. We are still hearing about how good people felt after their juice. We are not sure what special ingredients Susan used in her juice, but we do know only fresh organic fruits and vegetables were used.
Susan MacKay is a great CineCycle friend. She is a local Toronto, artist.
