Just round the corner a major road is being modified with the addition of cycle lanes and a speed reduction from 40 to 30mph - this is part of the Government's COVID-19 active travel plan. The entire length of the road is closed between 6am and 6pm to allow the works to be completed swiftly and safely over 3 weekends.
Here the old markings are being swiftly and cleanly removed - however, the machine is very noisy. Both drivers have ear defenders, communicating to each other by ear piece and microphone... but they have stopped to solve a small issue.
"The markings are removed quickly and efficiently using a single pass of the Hydroblaster in a manner that creates no smoke, debris or dust."
Returned to an abandoned slaughterhouse in Nebraska. Discovered there was so much more that I didn't see the first time. Definitely one of my favorite locations.
Will post about the history as I can find it.

Beartown State Park is a 107 acre (0.433 km²) state park located on Droop Mountain in northern Greenebrier County, West Virginia (with a small portion of the park also located in Pocahontas County). The park was established in 1970 to both preserve the area from development and to honor Ronald Keith Neal, a local soldier who was killed in the Vietnam War. Beartown is mainly a collection of sandstone outcroppings with erosion wearing numerous winding paths between the stones. Recreation in the park consists of hiking along improved trails and boardwalks. Markers explain the natural processes at work in the area. As the name suggests, the park is an attractive location for the hibernation of native black bears, the state animal of West Virginia.
Beartown is most noted for its unusual rock formations, which are comprised of Droop, or Pottsville, Sandstone formed during the Pennsylvanian age. Massive boulders, overhanging cliffs, and deep crevasses stir the imagination of most visitors. Pocketing the face of the cliffs are hundreds of eroded pits, ranging from the size of marbles to others large enough to hold two grown men. Ice and snow commonly remain in the deeper crevasses until mid to late summer. Vegetation clings tenaciously to life, sending roots into mere cracks in the rocks.
