Here's a neat trick, courtesy of Green Horizons, the company that cuts my grass every week.
When filling out their order form for my annual contract, I noticed the two options (circled in red) for window cleaning and house cleaning.
This is very smart.
Green Horizons knows that, if their clients are too busy to cut their lawn, they're probably too busy to wash windows and clean toilets as well.
So Green Horizons partnered with two other companies -- Squeegee Bob's and Cleaning Patrol (cool names!) -- to offer those services at a discount to their own clients.
Very smart.
And when is the best time to offer a cross-sell of additional, related services like this?
When your client has their wallet out.

Red Cross volunteers load clean-up supplies and drinking water on trucks at a warehouse in Nashville in preparation for mass distribution to people affected by the recent flooding. They take the supplies to affected neighborhoods and distribution points and give them out to anyone who needs them. An American Red Cross Clean-up Kit contains brooms, a mop, chlorine bleach, cleaning fluids, rubber gloves, scrub brush, rubber squeegee and trash bags, everything needed to disinfect and clean a small home. This is the first shot from a test roll for the Brownie Reflex 20. I put a roll of 35mm to work in this 620 camera. The image actually extends outside the sprocket holes, but the negative holder in my scanner covers that area so I'm kinda limited to this aspect ratio for now.
Those aren't power lines in the shot, rather the result of my finger squeegee effort before the film dried. I now have a proper film squeegee.
on a blue-green background, I tried the following techniques:
Dry brushing, using a credit card for a squeegee, and etching with a nail and a colored pencil.

1. I and only I am THE cat in my house. Those other two wretched things would beg to differ, but I am here to set the record straight. So there.
2. I have quite a bloodline. Everyone thinks I'm Siamese, but I'm all American! My mother was a calico and very dainty and petite.
3. I am NOT dainty and petite. I weigh 20 lbs. My person thought I was overweight, but my vet said I was just big.
4. My father was said to have been a clubfoot. HE was Siamese, I'm told.
5. Somewhere along the line a Maine Coone got in the mix according to my vet. That's why I am big. I'm not fat; I'm just big boned.
6. I am very quiet. I only talk when I really have something to say. That usually has something to do with my food bowl being empty. (Tigger eats all my food!)
7. I want to be a lap cat. My person says I cut off the circulation in her legs. What's a bowling ball? She says I feel like a bowling ball with fur on it when I jump on her. I usually ask permission, but sometimes I like to wait until she falls asleep in her chair and surprise her. What does X@!!!*&%!!!! mean?
8. I used to be a bully until Tigger came to intrude in my life. I started to set him straight, but he left a claw broken off in my nose! I don't have front claws. No fair! I didn't know I didn't have claws! Anyway, I like to growl at him.
9. when I first came to live with my person, she had another person- my grandma. She used to be my real person, but she went away. I first met her when I was a kitten. (I was really cute!!!) My person brought me in to meet Grandma and she was sleeping. She put me down on her bed and Grandma yelled, "Get it out of here! No more cats!" Then she looked at me and I kissed her. (I loved Grandma.) She said, "You ARE cute, aren't you? Darn it!" I got to stay.
10. The first things I did when I met Squeegee, the other thorn in my side, was to jump on his back and bite him. Nothing's changed except now sometimes he jumps on my back and bites me! Then I beat the snot out of him. Life is good.

From my oatmeal tin pinhole camera, I didn't think this one worked, it was almost all grey when I developed it. This is after scanning and heavy photoshopping. Exposure time - about 4 hours. I just left the tin on the back of the toilet while I processed other photos. Whenever I left the room, the light over the sink was on, also when I was washing, squeegeeing etc. While I was processing, it was just the red light.

So, I was headed back to my parents' house again on New Year's Day. Shobhit wasn't, as he had a shift that day, starting at 9:45, so I drove the car and dropped him off there, and headed south straight from there.
The thing was, Shobhit's windshield was filthy, and his car's windshield fluid hasn't worked in years. He suggested I stop at a gas station and use their washers to wash the windshield. I pulled into on Shell station on 15th Avenue, and they had none of these things at all. I pulled into another one on Denny Way, and at first I was very confused, by how many of these had no liquid in them at all. Finally I found a couple that did have water in them . . . sort of. Duh, it's been below freezing for a week! The ones still with water in them were solid ice!
This one was far too frozen; I just took the picture to show the ice. I did find one with a bit of loose liquid in it, though, still under ice—which I had to bash into pieces with another squeegee handle just so I could get to the water underneath. At least I got the car windows cleaned. I did wonder if anyone inside the gas station was staring at me hammering on something out at the pumps.
Here I've removed the tape that covered everything from the flange rivet holes aft. Now, when I lower the aft baffle into place, it'll squeegee the sealant into a nice bead at the forward edge, as desired, without pillowing out the skin.
