Looking at the shoreline through the window of our boat. The windows were always full of condensation on winter mornings in spite of the heater and regardless of weather. Time to squeegee!

For Macro Mondays - Wrinkled

This is a 3" x 2" section of one of my bath squeegees. HMM, everyone ! !
The next time you find yourself complaining about a day at work, think about these window cleaners on a skyscraper in Tokyo. We watched them start at the top, working their way down the building, each covering about three columns of windows, swinging back and forth with their squeegees. Very fascinating to watch. Happy Monochrome Monday! HMM!
Thanks as always to everyone who stops by to view, fave, and comment on my photos - it is much appreciated.

One more of the piano house. I took this photo on the same day I did the sunrise photos and from approximately the same spot. I love how the sky rendered on this image. If you compare this image with either of the color photos, you nearly can't see any cloud cover in those photos, but in IR, even the whispy, upper-level clouds pop. This may be my favorite shot of this location (so far).
This emulsion is super delicate though. I very gently squeegee my negs when I pull them out of the tank because I hate water spots. On this entire roll, there was a massive drag mark where the wet squeegee pulled significant emulsion right off of the base. It was a linear structure, but was fairly wide. Luckily it was located in the sky region and it was not hard to remove in Photoshot - took a lot of time though.
A small portion of a silk screen frame, the holes in the image allow ink to pass through when a squeegee is passed over the image and transferred to paper !. HMM !.
Another of my all time favorite kitties was Tigger. I still miss Tig terribly. He had the largest personality of any pet I've ever had, and was one of the most friendly, and beautiful cats, too!
Tigger's story is known to many of you. He was the "mascot" for Sugar Mill Gardens for many years, until I took him home to live out his life in comfort and safety for the last 4 1/2 years. Those years flew by. I wish I'd found him a lot sooner.
Tigger is with Squeegee, my other beloved pet, across the proverbial Rainbow Bridge. He died on Christmas Eve Day, 2012, having to be put down to end the suffering of lymphoma. No one knows exactly how old Tigger was, but we know it was probably at least 11-12 years. He is, and will always be missed and dearly loved.

A very strange group of things just behind St Brigid's Church. A newish Squeegee, a Suitcase and a length of rope. The mind might spend some time wondering what the combination of things was for.
A Galion Iron Works grader lets time pass by on the prairies of Southeastern Colorado.
Galion Iron Works is the name of the company that built the Galion brand of construction equipment. World famous for their graders that shaped the roads of the world, a saying emerged that "All roads lead to Galion." They also manufactured rollers, cranes, asphalt millers and even riding squeegees among other machines.
No. This is a work of art by Gerhard Richter which is in the Tate Modern in London....
Gerard Richter made a number of multi-coloured paintings using a giant squeegee. In 2011, at the age of 80, he used computer software to divide a photograph of one of his paintings into thin strips, splitting and dividing it again and again. The digital print here creates strange effects on our eyes. The marks made by the paint when the artist painted the original picture have disappeared.....
Thank you for visiting.
Squeegee doesn't like me spending so much time on the computer since it takes away time that could be better spent adoring HIM! He often stands on me and paws me trying to get my attention!
My cat Squeegee got his name for the high pitched squeaks he emits instead of meows! he is my all time favorite pet. See more pics of my pretty, orange boy in the set "Squeegee".

Original title “Working Girl” was inappropriate. Looked back at all my photos that year and asked myself what I liked best, and why. This is the type photo for a core theme—images resolving contradictions. In this case, order and chaos, as the woman cleans the window of a clock shop with a perfectly horizontal squeegee stroke in a sea of bubbles. Love her contemplative expression, and the clutter of urban reflections superimposed on the orderly interior of a Viennese clock seller.

The piece existed originally as a failed WhiteWall HD digital print 16" x 16" then overpainted with spray paints and modified with various physical effects such as squeegee/smudging/smearing of the various paint overlays and drippings. it evolved as a careful cascade of fortunate accidents.

Fearless
Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold.

I took this shot of my Squeeks on June 19th, 2013, with my old cell phone. I just got a smart phone, (learning how to use it!) and I sent a bunch of photos to it from the old one, which I can now email to myself and edit. Among them was this shot of my precious Squeegee, taken a little over two years before he died. It's hard to believe that this was over 4 years ago now. By the time I took this shot, it was already in the back of my mind that Squeeks was getting older and I might not have him much longer, so I took every photo op I could when conditions seemed right, and this one was particularly beautiful to me.
Squeegee has gone into the light forever now, and he is dreadfully missed, though sometimes, when I look at his photos, it's almost as if he's right there, close enough to touch.....
The team of 4 guys abseiling down the side of the Credit Union building on King William Street, to manually clean the glass exterior.
Squeegee is almost at an end. It is tearing me up. I thought of this song, and when I listened to it, it was so like what we would say to each other. Squeegee was my little protector and I was his. How could I not remember him? I'll never be without him a day of my life, even after he's gone. For the moments I still have left, I am grateful.
. . . when nature wiggles its way onto our canvas . . .
With our daughter in Greece right now, we have blue and white on our minds! This began as an experiment using a window squeegee to scrape dabs of paint down a blank canvas.
We are also working on an Egyptian piece, so a few stamps wandered over, along with lettering on clear cello wrap
from a floral bouquet!
And, last but not least, some Maple seed pods and a small twig
flew upon our collage for a final effect!

Apologies for what look like squeegee marks running vertically through this image. Pretty poor dev from the providers on the last batch. Lots of grott and stains from either the dev or poor film wash/dry practice.
Please, no graphics in comments thank you.
I've changed the dpi and file size of this one, but that's about it. This is my all time favorite pic of Squeegee. I'm posting this to Viewbug.com, along with some of the other recent edits. Lots of work getting things changed up!
This image is dedicated to Reto / swisscan, who recently retired from Flickr, either permanently or for an extended break -- hopefully the latter. People come and go from Flickr, but it is a bad sign when longstanding contributors of high-quality work leave because, as Reto recently put it, "Flickr has become a dumping ground and a battle field". I think there is still more good than bad, if you are selective, but... something to think about.

Here is a tough job: a window cleaner in January, seen at Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto. This building was designed by Arthur Erickson, and was completed in 1982.
Zoomed in shot of the 3 out of 4 guys abseiling down the side of the Credit Union building on King William Street, to manually clean the glass exterior.
I stayed up late and got up too early to work on this project. Now I'm back from the gym and ready for a nap...but noooo, I have to stay up a little late and work on the same project.
This will however turn into another trip somewhere, so I'm not bitching, just a state of the Steve address. As you were.
