Once the second color on the outside came along I found myself further reinforcing the jig I had in order to maintain a good print. Printing slowed down a bit more as care and precaution stepped in. In the end it all came out pretty fantastic!
“I’m going to miss little Piglet.” said Pooh Bear as he looked at Mount Bacon. “But these pounds and pounds and pounds of delicious bacon are going to make some delicious jerky.”
What with the beef eye of round in the refrigerator to marinate for three days, it was time to move on to make more jerky that doesn’t require any marination time — Bacon Jerky!!!
Jersey Shore Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring gathered honey, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, Sriracha chili sauce, garlic, onion, white wine, and a few other spices. He wound up using the entire bottle of Sriracha and quite a bit of the honey. He added the other items to taste.
Poor Pooh Bear wept the entire time that he watched and cried out, “Oh, no! Not the honey. What to do? What to do? What to do?”
Aggie Ring decided to throw Pooh Bear a bone and let him whisk everything together.
Once that was accomplished and after all the dehydrator trays had been sterilized with hot water, bleach, and soap, we drug each piece of delicious bacon across the top of the spicy glaze and used the edge of the bowl as a “squeegee” to wipe off any excess glaze.
The glaze was a bit sticky so we made sure to spray down the dehydrator sheets with oil. Once the bacon was glazed on both sides, Aggie Ring had me dust the bacon with ground black pepper.
We ran out of the Sriracha glaze about three quarters through the bacon and decided to use some Carolina Tangy Gold BBQ sauce as a glaze. We also dusted that bacon with black pepper. The pounds and pounds and pounds of delicious bacon filled up the dehydrator. There is probably enough left over for two more trays. I think we might try using just pure maple syrup and black pepper for that bacon when this batch is completed.
Aggie Ring yelled out “Hullabaloo!” and had me turn on the dehydrator. The type and thickness of bacon we are using requires about four hours to become delicious and chewy with some crispness. The entire house will begin to smell of delicious bacon and spices in about an hour. At the two hour mark, we’ll flip all of the bacon over and let it continue another two hours, or until it’s ready.

Squeeks is back to normal! A week of shots (ouch! Poor kitty!) and $250 later, he's feeling good again, although not too trusting of his traitor mommy who brought him to the bringer of pain every day, LOL!

Getting started on printing our Death Cab For Cutie poster.
The screen which acts as a stencil, with the first additions of ink. Pulling the squeegee across the stencil allows the ink to pass through precisely where you want it, thus making the first color's print.
The 4th Floor of the Chattanooga Public Library presents Zines & Screens, monthly back-to-back workshops on the last Saturday of the month to keep your creative juices flowing.

ZINE MAKING
We'll work with members of the Society of Ink and Paper to learn about indy publishing and zines, while creating some simple zines using available materials in the library's zine making lab.
I spent a good chunk of 07-07-07 taking pictures of anyone and anything I thought looked interesting.
Among my subjects were a group of young travellers (a.k.a. "squeegee kids") who had stopped to spend some time in Winnipeg as part of their summer cross-Canada tour, which had begun on the west coast. They had no problem with me photographing them, as long as their faces weren't shown.
One of the girls was also into photography, so we spent some time comparing digital camera photos before she had to go back to work with her friends.
The dolphin on the bus totally looks like it's checking this girl out. The guy on the bus looks like he is, too.
This guy has a SYSTEM! He was working in tandem wtih another brave soul on the carriage with him. This is looking out the 73rd floor south window.
I-5 is to your left, and you can see the Tully's coffee factory right beside the freeway.
Gettin' there.
Get yourself a long-handled squeegee. It is THE best thing for cleaning snow off cars. Soft rubber does not damage the car finish, and you can both push and pull massive amounts of snow so very easily. Seriously, spend the $15 or whatever and you will be so happy you did.
And... you will never be the dreaded SNOW CAR!!
I like the kid's afro and the FTS guy getting into it...Music started at 5:30 and lasted until 9:30. I got there too late to see SUBURBS VS CITIES and PLAYGROUND AUTHORITY. Sorry. I had dinner at Mountain Mike's Pizza during SOL and Captain Squeegee. I tried to skank at full speed and had muscle cramps after I got home. Being old is only better than the alternative.

Test run of a macro subject taken indoors with two desk lamps - exposed from 1s-9s @ f8-32(normalised to current temps with the Massive dev-chart app on the iPhone). These rolls were the first to be developed using guidance from www.rogerandfrances.com with their excellent advice on reduing fixing time with the spot-test (now down to 2-min fix) and using COLD water for washing to prevent emulsion scratching on final squeegee.
30s presoak in COLD tap-water, NO distilled water as Stourport tapwater is just fine (although remembering Roger & Francis advice to use filtered water for final wash when I move to hard-water Malvern). No stop-bath, just swill out twice with cold tap-water.
Love this mouse! Part of a pair of mice for the top table at a wedding later this week, the bride-to-be is a screen printer, so I made up a tiny printing screen from translucent clay and trimmed matchsticks. And of course she's covered in ink ;)
Scorch marks from the explosion are still visible at the gas station where Walt places the squeegee on “Ken Wins” BMW and it explodes in Season 1 on Breaking Bad.

I took this pic quite some time ago. Before my next door neighbors moved away, they planted a pineapple plant in their yard. No one has lived there for a few years now, and about twice a year, beautiful, little pineapples sprout up, so I've grabbed them as they ripened since no one else would. When I brought the first one in, my cats were fascinated! I set the pineapple down on my chair and let them investigate. Squeegee was really checking it out in this shot. He's my little instigator, and I can always count on him to stick his nose where it doesn't belong, so it's no surprise that he was first on the scene!
Yes, the pineapple was good, and I can't wait for the next one to form!
