One of the most popular and colourful activities at Verona Court are the flower arranging sessions. The sessions take place every two weeks and on special occasions, such as Mothering Sunday. Dawn Ashlee and Christine Moore from Blooms to Bloomers run the sessions. Activities Co-ordinator Sophie Petrovic explains that attendees use the arrangements in their own apartments or for gifts for relatives and friends. "We usually have eight to 12 residents taking part in the sessions and it's obvious they all enjoy themselves," she says.

All the yarn is handspun, 2ply sock weight, that I worked up on my spinning wheel. The orange fiber is a kool-aid dyed mix of angora, alpaca and soy. The red is a blend I bought of wool, sari silk and sparklies. I haven’t calculated the yardage I used yet.

Andrew played HARD at the park today. He fell twice and took a slide through the mulch. He didn't mention a word at the park but once we were to the car, suddenly it became clear just how uncomfortable they were. Poor fella. He's all boy. The bruises are from all the outdoor play over this glorious weekend. Looks like he's been in a street fight... thank goodness Band-Aids make it better.

I’ll be adding more to this album as they continue to open and flourish until the whole Iris patch has opened❣️Photo images credited to Vickie L Klinkhammer of Vickielynne Photography and Designs (VLP&Designs)
