A storm blew through leaving a trail of devastation across the state of Iowa. We were fortunate with only rain and high winds. My Irises took a beating, lost some, trampled down a few that I cut and brought inside, closed up a few but opened a few more! I find beauty in all the stages that a flower takes from bud, to flower, back to bud, to dying. Behold life and death in a cycle thru Mother Nature. Here we go around again with hopeful presence... The beautiful weather has finally arrived here in New England.
These past few years have caught me off guard
with it's waves of seasons riddled with death, birth and even rebirth.
A wildly vivid transition into some of my best work yet - Now, I will be present. I will be here sharing with you directly on this journey. Life is good.

Our first post-lockdown excursion, and our first restaurant meal since 31 October 2020. We lunched by the sea, at Markopoulos, near Oropos, about an hour away from our home in Athens.

It was a bit on the cool side today & I found this bumblebee resting/sheltering in a daffodil, waiting for the sun to warm it up.

"They shall return and dwell beneath my shadow,
they shall flourish as a garden;
they shall blossom as the vine,
their fragrance shall be like the wine of Lebanon"
– Hosea 14:7, which is part of today's First Reading at Mass.
My sermon for today can be read here.
Crassula 'Springtime' forms pagoda-like stems with alternating fuzzy emerald-green pointed triangular leaves. Flowers appear in profusion and are pale pink with a deep pink center. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost to prevent scarring.
This statue of a boy "Springtime" was originally in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park for an exhibition in 1949 but was moved subsequently to Glasgow Green (McPhun's Park portion).
