Yesterday Springtime Darners (Basiaeschna janata) were emerging from the Potomac. The photo is of a larva that is climbing a tree to emerge. Many more species will soon follow. Lander Boat Launch, Potomac River, Maryland.

Springtime Walk Around Our Yard - lots of little flowers popping up!
Iris pallida, the Dalmatian iris or sweet iris, is a hardy flowering perennial plant of the genus Iris, family Iridaceae. Their distinctive flowers have upright petals called "standards" and cascading petals called "falls". Running down the center of each fall is a “beard” that resembles a furry caterpillar. The leaves of bearded iris are flattened and sword-like, and the plants grow to varying heights.

目隠ししてちょっと覗くミニーちゃんがとてもかわいい。そのとなりのミッキーも上手く入ったら良かったのに。
A better photograph under natural light. At the moment I hand-craft all my chains for my necklaces. I like to be able to add colour and texture by wiring in stones to complement the focal.
I like the contrast between the very clear and sparkly lemon quartz and prasiolites and the opaque focal stones.

This statue of a boy "Springtime" was originally in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park for an exhibition in 1949 but was moved subsequently to Glasgow Green (McPhun's Park portion).
