Wisteria abounds in Umbria (Italy) in April. This fabulous display was covering the side of an historic villa in the lovely hill town of Trevi.
It’s Iris Time: My backyard garden has now added these gorgeous, velvety, frilly purple Irises. They are opening a few at a time. Here's a tiny Harvest Mouse playing peek-a-boo in the Blackthorn blossom. You can see his little tail wrapped around the twig behind. My only view of a wild Harvest Mouse was in a wetland in Kent in the mid 1980s. It had climbed up a Bulrush (Typha) stem and was nibbling the seeds, again with his tail wrapped around the stem. This one alas was captive bred.
the spring is here. "my" tree that I shot 2 years ago, uploaded in this site, is still there. Strong, alone and beautiful. Is the life stronger in Nature than in Human?
Volunteers at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, California annually plant around 30,000 tulip bulbs in January, along with hollyhocks and daffodils. This photo was taken two months later in March.
Today was a very rainy grey and ugly day. So what could be better than dreaming of delicate flowers blooming in the springtime sun?
Springtime in the gardens of Anglesey Abbey in Lode, Cambridgeshire. A lot of the spring flowers had gone over but the tree blossom was wonderful.
I had high hopes for the Spring of 2025. The beauty was even more fleeting this year with dismal weather and one of the coldest months of May that I can remember.
Springtime is trying to take over and winter is stubbornly slipping away. Before we know it, it's going to be 90 degrees and 90% humidity outside! I'm trying to enjoy these 60 degree days while I can!

Anemonas Blanda are also called Greek Anemones, but I had never had the luck to meet them there...And they are SOOO adorably BLUE!!! And they are SOOO majestically formed in their...tinyess!!! Every time I see them in my computer, I feel blessings in my heart!! Bless them!!
In the garden they are about 10 plants of them , and although I am in the process of tidying up the borders, they look so brilliant, even among the dry and dead leaves and branches..Such cute babies!!
