Dart's Hill was a private garden lovingly planted by the late Francesca Darts and her husband and later turned over to the City of Surrey B.C. for it's care. It has many rare specimen plants.

Dart's Hill has limited public access, but is open to the public for Springtime Saturday Strolls per the schedule: dartshill.ca/events/.

Somehow April seems to have sped past so quickly. I took a break to try and organise my Flickr shots rather better - and ended up with more than 20 extra flower albums ;o)

The month started with the promise of Spring, and has ended with a week-long plunge back into winter. I'm looking forward to May and some more Springtime!

Me...and himself! Now just let me explain... this was a very impromptu shot as this mirror is actually positioned inside the gents toilets at Chatsworth House! So we were passing by and the door was open, I spotted the mirror and hey presto...me and himself! :))

Then off again on the 4.5 mile walk through the grounds of Chatsworth in sunshine, rain, sleet and hail...thankfully far more sunshine than the other stuff! Got back to the car and removed our waterproofs and then the heavens opened and the roads were running a river by the time we left.

If you zoom in you can see it's starting to sleet through the mirror.

8. Rainwear - theme for 116 pictures in 2016

I love this time of the year, especially knowing that the inclement weather will soon improve. I do not mind the rain normally, but this winter has been mostly a very soggy one.

I created this quilt for an upcoming bridal shower! I used a Jelly Roll of the Verna fabric line by Kate Spain, Kona cotton in Snow and a pattern called Strip Stacks by GE Quilt Designs.

The quilt was a lot of fun to make and pretty easy. I added the white outside border (not originally in the pattern), used a wide blue binding, and pieced the back. I quilted it with a meandering free motion pattern.

The quilt measures about 55 by 75 inches. I hope the happy couple enjoys it!
