This reminds me of a cover from an old Saturday evening post... Americana

We had ourselves a (sort of festive?) downtown walk/shoot yesterday!

This is one of those shots where we’d already had some pretty awesome results on the Polaroid during the shoot and were a little torn about whether to take another or not… we ultimately decided to and it ended up being this picture so clearly we made the right choice!

PS, can you tell we're excited about the weather warming up, making it possible to actually have shoots OUTSIDE?

Reblog this on tumblr here!

Holy Cross is the parish church in the Wiltshire village of Seend (pop. 1,132), just outside Devizes. It is part of the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury. The west tower dates to the 14th Century (with a 15th Century bell stage), most of the church dates slightly later, to around 1450, with the North Aisle rebuilt in 1498, and the chancel much more modern, being largely the product of an 1876 ‘restoration’ by A.J. Style.

The Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is an intelligent bird that likes to chatter a lot. They frequently mimic the calls of hawks, especially the Red-shouldered Hawk and Red-tailed Hawk. These calls may provide information to other jays that a hawk is around, or maybe used to deceive other species into believing a hawk is present. Blue Jays communicate with one another both vocally and with body language, using their crest. When incubating, feeding nestlings, or associating with their mate, family, or flock mates, the crest is held down; the lower the crest, the lower the birdâs aggression level. The higher the crest, the higher the birdâs aggression level; when a Blue Jay squawks, the crest is virtually always held up. Blue Jays have a wide variety of vocalizations, with an immense vocabulary. Blue Jays prefer tray feeders or hopper feeders on a post rather than hanging feeders, and they prefer Acorns peanuts, sunflower seeds, and suet. Planting oak trees will make acorns available for jays of the future. Blue Jays often take drinks from birdbaths.

I created this quilt for an upcoming bridal shower! I used a Jelly Roll of the Verna fabric line by Kate Spain, Kona cotton in Snow and a pattern called Strip Stacks by GE Quilt Designs.

The quilt was a lot of fun to make and pretty easy. I added the white outside border (not originally in the pattern), used a wide blue binding, and pieced the back. I quilted it with a meandering free motion pattern.

The quilt measures about 55 by 75 inches. I hope the happy couple enjoys it!

Thank you all very much for your visit.

I love the simplicity and beauty of snowdrops. They always remind me of new beginnings and hope of a better season. We all pass through tough seasons in life.We therefore need reminding that God gives us strength to endure the present and hope to embrace a better future. His amazing love along the way is just the best antidote to discouragement

Springtime is trying to take over and winter is stubbornly slipping away. Before we know it, it's going to be 90 degrees and 90% humidity outside! I'm trying to enjoy these 60 degree days while I can!
