Love the springtime snow storms with the wet snow that sticks to everything. Like waking up to frosted flakes. Everything glazed in white. The naked cottonwood trees frosted in white.

What's a truer sign of spring that turtles still covered with mud and algae that have climbed out on the banks of a pond to sun? Can't think of anything that means Spring more than this!

Springtime is a season of awakenings and new beginnings. There is excitement in the air with the coming of each new day as more and more miracles of nature unfold. Take a "time out" today and capture YOUR miracle of spring, then be sure to linger to enjoy the beauty clear to the core of your soul!

Paris in the springtime… what more is there to say?

Everything is starting to come out here in the South. We've still had a few cold days but we've had some 80+ degree days too.

Here we go again.. my favourite local view revisited

A shady section of a path at Dart's Hill with splashes of Springtime colour.

Dart's Hill was a private garden lovingly planted by the late Francesca Darts and her husband and later turned over to the City of Surrey B.C. for it's care. It has many rare specimen plants.

Dart's Hill has limited public access, but is open to the public for Springtime Saturday Strolls per the schedule: dartshill.ca/events/.

Springtime on Elakala, West Virginia

I am still going through and processing images from last weeks tri to West Virginia. I will be heading back to the mountains on Wednesday for a 5 day private gig that starts on Thursday. In the meantime, I am putting in a lot of work on a new website, Estore and custom blog.

The new Dehaze feature in Lightroom is pretty neat. You can remove haze or add it for creative affect.

Let's welcome springtime!

It has, in the words of Homer Simpson, been a pretty lousy smarch here in Virginia (February was pretty gross, too). This past sunday was finally sunny, and despite the wind, I was happy to be trackside. CSX crews and Asplundh tree company have just completed a clear cutting of all the trees and brush at RO on the RF&P, opening up incredible views for the first time in years. In a picture perfect scene, Amtrak 203, the Operation life saver unit, takes a Virginia service regional south on a gorgeous afternoon passing early blooming cherry blossoms. It is indeed springtime in Virginia, and I am here for it.
