With a lengthy sand train in tow, this eastbound Union Pacific train approaches the west end of Rock siding near Sugar Island on UP's Adams Subdivision. The springtime melt has taken place, causing the Rock River to reach well over it's banks again and afford a decent reflection from the surface of it's muddy waters. My scanner batteries went dead waiting, so I was unable to hear the train ID.

A Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher posing for a photo. It was exciting to see these little migrators again. Always a favorite of mine.
Nothing says 'springtime' like tulips.
These are from last year since our tulips here are just beginning to emerge from the ground.
It's cold, rainy, snowy, and just plain nasty here right now :( But the calendar says spring has arrived, so we're going to pretend it's warm and colorful...
A little pastel magic in the editing produced this result.

In the Spring seasonal waterfalls fed by snowmelt appear on some intermitted streams along the walls in Wind River Canyon in Hot Springs County Wyoming. I was suprised by how much water was coming over this cliff of Ordovician Bighorn Dolomite south of Windy Point.
Encapsulated Flowers: What you see in the foreground are tiny droplets of water, in such a way that in each one of them the flower below can be seen.

Soaring into the deep blue...it's a delightful Springtime flight that gets you on your way to what is important !

A charming Himachali homestead on the road from Shimla to Narkanda.In the foreground is an apple orchard in full bloom.How I miss this time of the year in Shimla!

And so it begins, spotted this lone Bluebell in the woods on Thursday and grabbed a Springtime Snap, a B&W conversion with a little colour pop for a bit of fun, takes me back to my childhood doing a bit of colouring ;)

This is from my archives, but as it is officially the beginning of Spring, I thought that I would share this one.
It's like Wow, all at once within one week Springtime exploded. It's been hard to keep up and be in five places at once to see all that has gone on. It sure is pretty though and i am definitely in my element...camera in hand. As you can see here baby leaves are exploding in the forest where as less than a week ago there were no leaves at all.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
