Today was such a gloriously warm day that I spent almost all of it outside, wandering in the trees and enjoying the feeling of wearing just a shirt and shorts, not even shoes. Spring is finally (hopefully) here and I'm excited about the next few months ahead. I laid in this field of grass and listened to Fleet Foxes, a group of deer trottled by and didn't even notice that I was there....
While waiting on this location for some different light (and a different compo) I took this 5 shot panorama and I'm surpriced with the result in a positive way. There were some stitching errors which I had to fix (and are still there I see! :p have to fix that later)
The Martinsburg local returns south thru town after dropping off and picking up cars at the CSX interchange while the early Spring blossoms.
Spring....My flicker friends you are all so talented and bring such joy to me everyday....I thank you for your wonderful photographs, way of seeing the world around you and information.
I started a blog a while back with the idea that it would be nice to share our neighbourhoods with pictures and stories. We could create a better understanding of our world in general. We know our hoods intimately and photos and stories go along way to further the understanding of what is going on....migration, mating etc.
If you are interested in participating please email me. Your photographs are inspiring and I would like to share what you know with others. The more we share the more we understand and hopefully the more we will protect this world we live in.
I hear the quail calling in my back yard....can't wait to see what you all post today!!!

One of two uploads for a weekly challenge I'm doing with a group of Flickr friends. This week's theme is "macro".
I basically stopped posting photographs of my photojournalism work on this page last summer, but since this is essentially a landscape shot, I'm going to include it here. I made this photograph last Friday in Wilsonville, Ore., in the heart of the little city for an article on the city's Tree City USA designation. These rain-splashed Trilliums called out to be included in the scene, so I complied without resisting. I think it makes for a much more interesting shot, and I'm hoping my readers/viewers do as well, both here and in print next week!

...from the wonderful place we stayed last night, called BesteBakken in Hafslo/Luster (had a really nice and large room in a new barn).
Superb hospitality, comfort, charm and delicious local home made food. Do you spot their alpacas to the right? I will show you charming photos of them later on ツ
