The spring is slowly arriving even though it is still a bit cold which makes for misty sunsets.
This photo will be the last for me this week as I am leaving tomorrow for vacation in Istanbul.
Have a great week my friends!
See you next week!

The first spring warmth turns the newly molten ice inte a sunny fog spectacle.
I find forest photography terribly hard, so I'm happy when a shot like this comes up.
Spring has finally been found, and our coulees are slowly turning green. I love Spring! The dogs are happy in whatever season, but better weather means more walks, more work, and of course more fun!
Mountain Hair taken on Sundays tour. The Hares are in various colour changes for Spring/Summer. Some are still very much grey/white whilst others are like this one which is mostly brown. A fantastic animal to capture on camera and not just in Winter. I am waiting to see them in the purple Heather which should be soon.
A sunset view of the Sierra Ancha from Tonto Basin. The Sonoran Desert in spring puts on a brief show of leafy greenery before the summer heat sets in and shrivels everything up - Gila County, Arizona

sometimes, bursts of rain and wind and clear skies and sun and cold all in one day ... at least when the sun is out without the wind it's warm to touch ... it's cold now ... it smells like Spring and the trees (and foliage) are starting to look the part ... did I mention it's cold now?
Spring Dawn, on the way to work this morning, i spotted this composition as the sun was starting to rise. Luckily its the season for always having the camera with me.
This year spring was delayed a few weeks with a spring snow storm dumping a over a foot of snow on the first weekend of April
winter’s final bed of snow
soon becomes a nectar to grow
with sun and warmth
the bells will ring
singing out
the spirit of spring

The Dells of the Eau Claire River protects a scenic, narrow rocky gorge and waterfalls where geologic processes have resulted in an unusual tilting of bedrock. The rocky gorge and forested areas are wooded with a northern mesic forest of hemlock, sugar maple, yellow birch, and mountain maple. Canada yew is abundant in dense patches and the spring flora is rich.
Już mam dosyć tego śniegu, więc sięgnęłam po wiosnę do archiwum ;)
I already can't stand this snow outside, so I take some Spring from my archive... ;) This hyacinth grew in a small garden near the building where I live, in the begining of April in 2010.
Hyacinth is the common name for approximately 30 perennial bulbous flowering plants of the genus Hyacinthus (order Liliales, family Liliaceae) of the Mediterranean region and Africa. The common garden Hyacinth, Hyacinth Orientalis, originated in Anatolia and was brought to Europe in the 16th century. The Hyacinth bulb produces a dense, compact spike of flowers, 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) tall. The normal bloom time for Hyacinths is from March to April. Hyacinths have been cultivated commercially since the second half of the 16th century. They became very popular in 18th and early 19th century Europe. The bulbs are now grown commercially in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In the Netherlands Hyacinths are also grown as cut flowers.
An ancient Greek legend describes the origin of the Hyacinth. Two of the gods, Apollo and Zephyr, adored a handsome young Greek called Hyakinthos. Apollo was teaching Hyakinthos the art of throwing a discus.
Zephyr, who was the god of the west wind, was overwhelmed with jealousy and he blew the discus back. It struck Hyakinthos on the head and killed him. From his blood grew a flower, which the sun god Apollo named after him.
Upon a nice mid-spring day,
Let's take a look at Nature's way.
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose.
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees.
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow.
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground.
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale...
Lake Katherine is in full spring mode, with many flowering trees, green grass, and abundant wildlife.
Although it is still quite cold there are obvious signs that spring is coming. These is a bush of snowdrops in the afternoon sun in front of a small river.

Spring seems to have to battle very hard this year… Piz Aul (3121m) is still deeply covered in snow.
I took this crocus macro at Brookside Gardens just outside Washington, DC, last week. The sun was shining and spring was in the air!
Spring
Designed, folded, and photographed by Alexander Soukas. Folded from one uncut sheet of the artist's handmade paper.
I woke up this morning and was inspired to work out a new design - I knew I didn't want to create something entirely new. I wanted a modification, something in my archives that I can readjust. Breathing life into old designs is always a favorite challenge of mine. I took the autumnal themed, "avalanche" design and made it into this piece. Poetically enough I've had some revelations internally about my past. I learned that creating some new identity was superficial and that any past trauma should be worn not with shame but with pride. This carried into 'spring'. Instead of folding anew I went to the archives, dusted off some old designs and gave it a new shine: a rebirth.
