Empty Yonge Street on a windy Spring day. Blue No 17 in Colours of Spring Series. Explored on April 12, 2024.
What a truly delightful place this is ! It looks amazing in Spring colours , I will definitely have to return in Summer to see it in full glory :-)
First of many pictures from here
Another emergency with our dogs - this time my little guy's spleen had to be removed due to a large mass. All this when we were just taking him to get his teeth cleaned & he had his annual senior (he's 14) check-up a month ago. You never know what tomorrow will bring ...
Early Spring continues here with early butterflies on 70o days. Some over-wintered, some are fresh. Most are fly-by's or high above us in trees. We've seen 9 species so far:
Buckeyes
Spring azures
Orange sulphurs
Eastern Commas
Question mark
American snout
skipper sp.
Checkered skippers
White, med-small - either a large Orangetip or Cabbage white
Update 3-1-17: after seeing 2 Orangetips yesterday 2-28-17 it's clear that this earlier white butterfly could not have been a large Orangetip because of the very different shades of white and big difference in size. So it must've been a foty Cabbage White.
No Mourning cloaks, no Zebra swallowtails - yet. Wild blueberries they favor are blooming in the woods. Trees continue bursting out in bloom and fescue is green - it's looking like Easter already.
Thanks for your prayers for my baby. Happy Butterfly Monday!
resubmitting for the distress challenge! I love to distress :-)
I love playing with my Outline Flowers stamp, this time I cut them out and put on a 8.5x11 LO. I also used Old French Writing and Flowering Flourish!

I'm adding this into Lil Lamb's Boutique's NSD challenge on Mothers. This picture always reminds me of Mother's Day...this picture was quickly taken right before going out to a big Mother's Day brunch a few years ago. That's our tradition for Mother's Day, we all go out to a big, fancy breakfast. The kids are usually so well behaved and love getting to act like adults at a fancy party :-)
Happy "Last Fence Friday of Spring"! This fence is in front of another one of my favorite local farmhouses. All I really ever knew about this house, other than the fact that I loved it, was that is was supposedly haunted. When I met the owner, I had to ask, and she did tell me that it was haunted when the previous owners had lived there and had a baby. It was haunted by a young woman who would be seen sitting on the porch. She had lost her own child and was there to help take care of the baby. The people that own the house now are an older couple, and since they did not have young children living with them, they had never seen the ghost or encountered anything out of the ordinary. Every night I notice how pretty the light is hitting the fence and the yard in the evening before sunset.
Happy Fence Friday as we turn the corner and head into the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer!
A class Sr3 Vectron locomotive is hauling a tanker their to Hagonsaari while enjoying nice surroundings that the spring has revealed under the snow layers. The Vectron can clearly shiny in these surroundings.
In this shoot I wanna introduce Spring in my Home, camp, flowers, clean colors and trees are some of the elements present in this shoot.
not unusual to find nice views around the hills, near my town. It's spring time!
No post processing, I used the polarizer filter.

non è difficile trovare dei fantastici scorci attorno alle colline, vicino Padova. E' primavera!
Nessuna elaborazione, ho usato il polarizzatore

The obligatory first-crocus-shot! ;-)
Have a fine spring Monday!

On a very nice spring evening the most straight forward shot is getting a colour boost and make it looks so great.

After work today I got a message from Nard, "Jo has spring fever; let's go for dinner."
Alright. My stomach isn't up for much so let's go get poutine. Logical right? Probably a bad choice, I'm not feeling great now but whatever I need to start eating meals again. Go big, or go home right?
Anyway, after dinner I pestered Jo to pose for me. Other than the rain starting which dampened her spirit, she was a good sport and posed showing off her adorable socks and hemline.
Jo's "first day" of spring fashion!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year. (Robert Frost)
February as I write this - what lovely light will be with us in just a few weeks!
Perhaps because of its strongly reflexed petals, this seemed by far the daintiest out of a mixed bag of dwarf daffodils...
In the spring, Ten Foot Falls near Eagle Harbor, Michigan, runs much higher than it does at other times of the year. Yes, those are in the same location! (View this one large and on black.)

While winter was fairly dry and disappointing, Spring did bring a heavy and much needed blanket of snow to the area ...
