Because of the time that I need to travel (when the kids are on spring break holiday), I'm always a little early for the cherry blossoms in D.C. You can see that they have just started to bud in this colder than usual year, but I liked the framing of the Washington Monument across the Tidal Basin. I share this image to celebrate the launch of my review of the Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8, which I used here. Fight ! L'automne est là, dernière étape avant le froid de l'hiver.
2 panoramas photographiés à 4 mois d'intervalle. Depuis les hauteurs de Valdahon dans le Doubs, entre le printemps et l'hiver.

Fight ! Autumn is here, last step before the cold of winter.
2 panoramas photographed 4 months apart. From the heights of Valdahon in the Doubs, between spring and winter.
Boy, I had too much bottle up time again while awaiting spring and I am trying to build up energy after a year of insults to my energy levels. I snagged a shot of this almost permanent blank sky at the edge of Roger's Grove on a trek over from Isaac Walton Park of winter's latent trees while sidelined before my move back to the Thistle apartments unfinished construction. I have watched the sky but I need to get out when there is a suggestion of a good sky around here. But for now the scene still looks dead, dead, dead. Today is a bad sky day as we shuffle between bad sky and no sky days.
The beginning of Roger's Park that lies between Golden Ponds and Isaac Walton parks on the Greenway Trail was a foundation gift to Longmont from Roger Jones and his wife, long time Longmonters. I met Roger in the 50s. Still, it is now a pretty good place for a quiet walk in local nature. That is, if you can track down a spot to park at any of them. Same on this Sunday! Sheer luck parking then.
I am praying the area rebounds soon this spring after both jabs and if I manage to avoid herd immunity (today is over two weeks after my second and last jab) when they really mean herd stupidity. CU Boulder students erupted again - I thought they checked for IQ before college and presidential acceptance. We are currently about 10-15 degrees over normal in the valley. We could use a lot more masks worn at Logmont parks, especially by the covidiots. Why take advice from scientist or doctors warning of consequences?
Primroses from my garden, placed into a two tier stack of old cups. Then stacked on top of some old books. Taken using a 100mm macro lens, straight on, using a tripod. Natural light. Reflector used to bounce back light into the front of the still-life. Three layers of texture added in Photoshop after basic adjustments applied in Lightroom. Most challenging part is getting the composition right in camera and ensuring that the pale petals of the primroses weren't blown out.
Carrizo Plains in-camera motion blur. The hills are starting to come alive. Supposedly the best is yet to come.
The beautiful colors of all the spring flowers make a great setting for taking photos. This photo was taken at Washington Park in Albany, New York

I`ve got my bike ready yesterday for a first ride of the year. It was worth it even though I had a 6km (3.7Miles) strong headwind on the way back.

ich habe gestern mein Fahrrad klar gemacht für eine erst Fahrt in diesem Jahr. Es hat sich gelohnt obwohl ich auf dem Rückweg 6km (3,7Miles) starken Gegenwind hatte.
My intent was to capture the essence of Spring, with the sunlight, green color and flowing streams. Hope you enjoy.
6-frame HDR to get the full, dynamic range of the light.

“Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems.”

Winter aconite (Eranthis hyemalis) in our garden, taken on the same day as this one.
A couple of kilometres and some meters in hight can make such a big difference!
Hope you all have a good start into the week and into spring! :)
A brief visit to Attenborough Nature Reserve in Nottinghamshire this evening. The light and calmness were great. Without a wide lens to hand, I had to use my phone to get an image.
For the Weekly Challenge "translucent/transparent"
My poor little Narcissis have been neglected since last spring (they were left in a pot outside and neither fed or watered all year) and they still put in an appearance this year despite the harsh weather. Guess they're not gonna do much better anymore, now that I've cut them LOL
thanks for all the views, comments and faves :)
Common snowdrops announcing springtime, and judging by the amazing weather these days spring has already arrived!

Late post today, didn't have time to upload before heading home from NY state. Just got back and will catch up with all your photos from this past week. Hope you all had a good one!
Some flowers from late spring (May 30). Captured at Longwood Gardens in Pa, with the iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens lightly edited on the iPad in Snapseed.
Forgot what kind of flowers were.
Have a black and white version that I might post in the future.
