Not a focus stack, just a shot of my Peony bush a couple of weeks ago, pushing out new growth. I liked the colors and the freshness, so I decided to post it.

Spent the morning at the Missouri Botanical Garden where everything was in full bloom...perfect spring morning to leave a lasting impression :-)

Spring time is the most beautiful season. Sitting in that old, historic monastery garden means so much fun to me. The wind is still a bit cool, but the birds are singing, which makes me feel good. 🌿🐦🍀❤
On a recent hike we spotted the early flowers on the currant plants near the trail. I love these little flowers and was surprised to see them in bloom so soon.Like many other places in the world we are experiencing warmer weather...it's pleasant but disturbing. We spoke to a member of the Elwah Tribe, who were instrumental in the dam removal on the Elwah River which it is hoped, will allow the native salmon return to spawn. Now there is concern that warm temperatures in the Pacific will prevent the fish from returning. I just finished reading "The Sixth Extinction" by Elisabeth Kolbert, which was excellent, but disturbing. I am sad & worried about the obvious signs of planetary change.

Closest tree on the right is Western Redcedar, note its thin, ropy bark.
The ferns in the foreground are our western or common Sword-fern, Polystichum munitum which is evergreen but puts up its new foliage in the spring.

Alley Spring is located approximaely 6 miles west of Eminence, Missouri, in Shannon County. The red mill, known as Alley Mill or "Old Red Mill," is located on the spring, which is part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. The Mill is operated as an Ozarks history museum. The spring and the small community that grew up around it was originally named Mammoth Spring and later Barksdale Spring, but these names were deemed too long by the Post Office Department of the time, so the village was renamed after a prominent local citizen, John Alley. The community at Alley thrived for a while, then declined as times changed. While fewer folks came to Alley for the mill's services, people from all over the area kept coming to visit the spring's blue waters.

Isn't it supposed to be spring today??? temperatures are going to feel like -24 degrees Celsius tomorrow. How lucky, winter likes us so much this year. Ok let's stop complaining and enjoy what we've got, snow, wind and freezing cold :).

The weather finally broke here last weekend and as soon as that Sun stayed out the local fishermen got out to hit the local waters.
nichts zu sehen vom frühling, aber zum glück kann man sich den frühling schon mal ins haus holen.
there is still not a sign of spring outside but luckily flower shops offer “spring” to be taken home.
finally Spring! already the sun is coming out more, it is amazing, I actually went for a walk the other day. Can't wait for summer, so close!.
semester break next week, hopefully see the beach these holidays :)
I have no clue what this flowering shrub is in my yard. A friend let me dig a piece of it from their yard last summer and it's grown by leaps and bounds! It's covered in this sweet little pink buds & flowers now that Spring has arrived. If any of you can ID it for me, I'd be tickled "pink" to know what it is.

Spring is here in Thimphu. The flowers of peach, apple and apricot blossom and fill the air with its fragrance all over.
