Well, the Daffodils are in bloom....so Spring has arrived.

I decided to play with some texture here....a first for me : ))

Note: Seems like it's a lot darker after uploading to flickr....oh well, guess I'll leave it as is.

By the way, I just started a new group called The Healing Place. Please stop by and see what it is all about: www.flickr.com/groups/the_healing_place/

And a new poem:

Gray Rainy Days

By Don Iannone

Gray rainy days

Why we need inner sunshine

Why we need inner focus

Bringing light to our world

We fret too much, this and that

Making unnecessary choices

After all, we're here

It's always now, never sooner or later

Bright pink azalea blossoms in sunlight

They're possible any day

Come rain or shine

Always inside us, waiting

Outside my window---

A determined blue jay

Squawking about this and that

I laugh; that's me

The rain subsides

Giving way to stillness

Even that nature provides

It's ours, if we stop our squawking

Then there are the clouds

Hiding the sun

So nature's tears can soak deep

Into the thirsty earth

Gray rainy days

Reminding us, listen, hear

The rain singing on the roof

Reminding us, bring our light to the world

"You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming."

Pablo Neruda

Spring is here, apparently, even though its currently -2C with snow flurries ツ ツ ツ

It's been spring for more than a month here in Cyprus. Very soon everything will be dry.

Frederiksværk is a nice small town close to our cottage.

I have bought a new phone... :)

It's that magical time of year when spring snowflakes and other early bloomers form a white carpet in our forests.

During Spring in Santiago, Chile it is possible to see a lot of greens all over the several hills around the city. This photography taken from the San Cristobal hill shows a lot of those greens on the foreground. On the background, to the right, the famous (for Santiago's people) Cerro Manquehue.

Using a slow shutter speed I was able to capture the movement as thousands of waders took of during a recent Spring Tide at Norfolk. A truly amazing event to witness. I hope you like them.

Obviously taken from my archives ;-)

An abstract shot of the bluebells at Micheldever Wood from last Spring using an ICM (intentional camera movement) technique during a short long exposure to create an artistic watercolour-like effect.

Looking forward to heading out to some bluebell woodlands this season, hopefully in some nice early morning light! : ) .

Have beautiful weekend everyone!!

We wanted to photograph super moon over the weekend but we arrived a bit late to our location :) So plan B was to wait for the morning light and photograph spring in the full bloom. Everything is pretty and green here in Slovakia now.

I cannot wait to upload some photos from Namibia and South Africa. We had an amazing trip with friends there during the whole April. Stay tuned.

Thanks for looking!

Your feedback is always appreciated ;)

I know it's a bit early, but we had sun every day last week and we don't have minus degrees in the daytime anymore. I took the crocuses out on the balcony, had my cup of tea and put on my sunglasses. It was'nt difficult getting that Spring feeling <3

Music that goes well with that feeling, George Harrison - Here comes the sun, of cours. A classic. Love that song. Here's the YouTube link: youtu.be/EWwrhUX3iTM

PS! Sorry if I haven't visited your stream yet. I'm on my way :)

Dedicated to frog lovers everywhere!

It's Spring, so that means it's mating season for frogs. This video shows a swamp here in Moncton with 100s of frogs calling to each other and mating. Shot with Nikon D7100 and Nikkor 18-300mm lens. My first nature video shot with my D7100, which records audio in stereo!

My Dad used to call them "Peepers" when they played their Spring night time symphonies.

Spring is in full bloom. Everywhere I look, I see new growth and new life. All I want to do is be outdoors and watch it all happen, but I couldn't possibly see everything. It's intoxicating and a bit overwhelming. I'm so afraid I'll miss something.

Like the Elizabeth Magnolia that I'm so obsessed with... I went to the park one day and saw that it was beginning to bloom. So I came back a few days later, and it had bloomed a bit but not fully. I came back three days later, and the blooms were gone. It bloomed, and the wind carried the flowers away. Just like that, it was gone. I suppose there was one perfect day where the magnolia was at its peak, but I missed it.

Maybe that's why Spring is so magical.

The cherry trees blossom along the trail and spring sun shines above them. Since this area is quite remote from Taipei (minimum 2 hours driving), there are not many visitors there. I do enjoy the sun light in spring there.

所幸這裡還不是那麼有名,中午時分遊客也不是很多,我沒有將任何人PS掉,本來拍的就沒有遊客^^~

Love finding these flowers doting an otherwise dark green forest in the spring!
