Happy Macro Monday!

“It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”

― Mark Twain

Spring fever is when people walk the harbour walls in the evenings, boats buzz by after a day out fishing, gulls are squawking mid air, geese are flying off and water is lapping at the edge. Bring it on!

This Spring/Summer I had the enjoyment to walk around my neighborhood, the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and in my own front and back yard! The Lilac Bushes are in both my front yard and my back yard. Spring is such a beautiful time of year when nature brings us new life! Summer carries it on. Happy First Day of Spring!

At least that's what the calendar says anyway. I had 8 inches of wet, sloppy, heavy as concrete snow yesterday morning! We all tell ourselves that we badly need the moisture, which is true, but we are also anxious to get a move on!

Spring Sunset Reflection with Spectacular Colors

Happy Friday, everyone. Had a great week with the grandkids (& their parents)--then our home internet went on the fritz. After five days of dealing with call centers, trying to get service, it pays off to have a high school friend who works locally with the internet provider!

Spring is awakening everywhere. Have a wonderful new week, Flickr friends.

Explore~thanks to all!!

More flowers from my garden, where we've had another cold spell, at last warming up a little. This is my lone Cowslip – I'm sure I used to have more, but this seems the only survivor.

If spring came but once in a century, instead of once a year, or burst forth with the sound of an earthquake, and not in silence, what wonder and expectation there would be in all hearts to behold the miraculous change!" ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

And more Leucojum, taken not in the dark but twilight, as I ventured out after a day of solid rain to top up the bird feeder. All the tiny raindrops on the petals look quite jewel like.

My view of Old Rag Mountain (Shenandoah National Park in the state of VA, USA) on an absolutely beautiful spring day.

A meadow and trees in spring, Central Park, Manhattan.

This photograph is evidence. Allow me to explain. We frequently visit New York City, as our two sons and their wives live and work there. The running joke is that we always go in the two worst months, August and December. And on every visit they tell us that “you should really come in fall or spring when it is beautiful.” So a few weeks ago I took them up on the offer and visited at the very end of April. You know, spring. It rained almost the entire time. There was thunder and lightning. Roads flooded. Until the last morning.

I had a few hours on my final morning since I didn’t need to get to the airport until afternoon. So I headed out toward Central Park and found… sunshine, pleasant temperatures, clear skies, and spring greenery. It was quite pleasant — for a few hours. I headed to the airport and flew back to the West Coast where… it was raining. Someone is playing a cruel joke on me. ;-)

Spring has arrived, in the cereal fields the delicate poppies stand out for their colors, from time to time we can see a purple one.

La primavera ha llegado, en los campos de cereales las delicadas amapolas muestran sus efímeros colores, de vez en cuando podemos encontrar una de color morado.

Spring is Near

Glad to be stuck at home during spring and not winter. There’s a little silver lining.

Spring is not the favorite time for people with sinus allergy - like me - but I do enjoy that good time where it's neither cold nor hot xD

“I'm in full Spring mode!

I hope that this "mental nonsense" will pass quickly, I see beauty in anything, I see flowers everywhere, they are all beautiful, from any angle I would take a picture of them, I think it is something worrying, just like when you are young and it seems that there are no problems in sight... that's how I am now, in this "mental state" but I don't know how long it will last... I will never evolve!

Have a wonderful day, weekend, night, wherever you are!

Be happy!
